The tyranny of the land barons may have strongly impacted the business climate in Fort Wayne. So determined to control..the old guard can only extend its arms to grow its population. First, it was with annexation..but more residents fled from the downward spiral of the city that time after time only thumbs its' nose at federal mandates to do better by its citizens.
Wanting to be an all american city, but it's core is more like an international village. It's seeks to do some city cleaning. Fort Wayne is not a city that stands on its own merits. It stands back and watches Indiana's other cities make changes, and than Fort Wayne springs into action, taking certain components of change, to mask the city refusal to move forward.
Today, it is the pseudo consolidation change, that it's group think leaders are all excited about. But, it is just a selling point from the city to the county to maintain nepotism and cronynism employment..most of the businesses are leaving the city..so I quess this crew can't or couldn't find work in the private sector.
It's has fudged it's population number for so long that it is now yelling out things like, let's build a stadium or redevelop a new downtown, to bring back folks. While the residents, shake their heads, pack their bags and try to find life outside their dying city, singing, "A change gonna come"...some day.
This site is one of the best I have ever seen, wish I had one like this.
