United States Supreme Court upholds the 2nd amendment in DC vs heller

Fort Wayne Allen County NAACP #3049 in partnership with local officials will be holding a luncheon on a gun amnesty program this summer a week before the Three River Festival. The gun amnesty program is an important event just after the United States Supreme Court handed down its ruling in DC vs Heller on whether or not D.C. provisions amending the rights of individuals who are not affiliated with any state-regulated militia, but who wish to keep handguns and other firearms for private use in thier homes is violates the second amendment in the United States Constitution.

The Majority rules that yes the state law is in violation of the U.S. Constitution. This will be a major blow to those who believe that the weapon that individuals carry for personal use is far more dangerous than the weapon used during George Washington era.l The majority ruling from the SCOTUS suggest that the Constitution is not a living document and is a document to be upheld by those who are political appointed by conservative presidential candidates.

This is a 157 page document that will take at least a day for me to read. I am interested in Scalia opinion who is totally against revisionist thinking when it comes to the Constitution.
