Seasoned Congressman Mark Souder wins his bid to run again for Indiana third district Congressional seat. Souder win his ninth appearance on the ballot. Although, 51% of his constituents collectively voted against Souder for republicans Bob Thomas, Phil Troyer and Greg Dickman. Thomas the most successful of the challengers lost to Souder 49% victory.
Democrat Thomas Hayhurst will join Souder on the ticket to run for the third distirct. This will be Hayhurst second run again Souder for the seat. This run will be difficult for Hayhurst. With the return of former Indiana Senator Dan Coats to run for the senate, Republicans will turn out to offer their support. This can only benefit Souder campaign. Souder on several occassions served as an aide to Coats.
