Dean Robinson speaks out on Brother Vince protective order

And takes issue with my post of him calling his brother a racist:
Let's see Dean Robinson called his brother an African-American a racist

18 teen year old:Saturday night special

T-street name--is hit with three bullets. TRAA takes his body to the hospital a little before 7: 30 P.M. Police block off corner of Webster and Lennox where shooting took place. Yellow tape and half dozen or more police cars surround the area.

The youth had come from eating chili dog with a friend, left walking the short block between Fairfax and Lennox down the street from the busy Southgate Plaza.

This the second night that a brigade of police cars have stormed the southside. The neighborhoods are not predominately African-Americans which could explain the high level of police cars.

The police were called to the scene of VFW early this morning. Both shooters are still at large. Is funding needed to keep police cars on the street?

It's time to get these shooters off the street. We don't need a Chicago happening in our city before we begin to demand police action. When a honor roll student is beaten in the head by a thug.

Call Rusty York before you go to bed and tell him to get police officers to chase criminals and not just line the street after a crime has taken place.

NAADF is not the NAACP: Rev. Michael Latham

Rev. Michael Latham the cat with nine lives as started a new group. National African-American Founders’ District is the name of Latham's next project. This comes after Latham's recovery from yet another illness.

Rev. Latham and Victor L. Nelson and James Thomas formed the group after a racial incident involving students at a Marathon gas station on Hanna and Oxford. Rev. Latham felt the need to educate folks who are insensitive about contribution by African-Americans frrom Indiana. Rev. Latham and his other "trinity" partners' will travel to various cities in Indiana to establish landmarks in rememberance of their contributions.

But, education first starts at home, home being Fort Wayne, Indiana. Rev. Latham feels more freedom under the NAAFD umbrella than under the NAACP, for his activism. As a former President of the local NAACP, a civil right organization, Rev. Latham understands the local NAACP is governed by the National NAACP. Under his new organization, he is not restrained from acting upon injustices immediately. Rev. Latham will have to work with the state to get his organization recognized as a 501(c)3 for federal funding.

For now, Rev. Latham is working on getting his name registered with the State of Indiana. Just when you think, Rev. Latham is down for the final count, once again you found him making the news.

PIO /Vince Robinson making the news

Reports are circulating that Mayor Tom Henry Public Information Officer is now in hot water. Robinson steps are being ordered by a protective order. I posted earlier about the ambush of the Mayor by Robinson's brother Dean. Now it seems that PIO Robinson has hurled a black cast iron candle holder at his girlfriend.

Girlfriend? Is this some Big Papa style behavior from Robinson, because I thought he was married! Oh, there is a divorce filing. But you know KIm from the Real Housewives of Atlanta was saying Big PaPa was going marry her and the man is already married.

Sounds like more free press for the Ink newspaper

Privatization or data collection for private companies?

So much for privatizing the welfare system, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels end IBM contract. But what about the folks personal information?

Affiliated Computer Services has had access to ICES data for limited purposes since 2007 under FSSA’s 10-year, $1.34 billion contract with Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM Corp. to privatize and automate welfare intake. ACS is a partner with IBM in the project.

UPDATE: Oct. 16 Affiliated Computer Services is lead by by the former FSSA director Mitch Roob. Roob is a good friend of Indiana Governor Mitchell Daniels Howey Politics writes a good article about the interchangeable relationship of Mitch Roob, Mitchell Daniels and Stephen Goldsmith:

Now, flash forward to 2005 when Daniels assumed office and Roob headed FSSA. Roob would tell HPI in those days that the three major figures - Daniels, Roob and Goldsmith - had simply “traded positions.” Daniels became the CEO; Roob headed FSSA; and Goldsmith became the adviser, as he currently is with Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, multiple sources have told HPI.

The other element to this picture is that between the Goldsmith mayoral administration and the Daniels governorship, Roob worked for Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services Inc., which was eventually included in the IBM welfare deal. From the beginning of this affiliation, critics abounded. They pointed out that Texas had pulled the plug on what the Indianapolis Star described as a “similar welfare privatization effort after thousands of people lost benefits they deserved.”

Vince and Dean Robinson-Ain't I Black My Bro

Note: I did some editing of this article after listening to Dean podcast on Oct. 17.

Let's see Dean Robinson called his brother an African-American a racist. I think that is cute and it plays to raced white folks. You see, Dean's brother, is Vince Robinson, editor of INK, a "black newspaper". Robinson, the editor was the Fort Wayne Allen County NAACP secretary until he was appointed public information officer for Fort Wayne's Mayor Tom Henry.

So, Vince had to step down from his NAACP post, as he accepted the $70,000 POSITION,

But, before, Vince, the editor was appointed PIO for the City, his newspaper profiled another African-American blasting the Mayor's office for the lack of African -Americans holding high positions in the Mayor's Office. The Mayor needed the African-American vote to get elected and did not hire enough African-Americans after the election.

The Mayor suggests he's no quota man, when he says he wants only qualified blacks, to his black critics with a smile.

Was it just mere coincidence that Vince is a member of a clique of African-Americans in which the same person who he profiled in his newspaper to blast Henry is also a member?

Now, the editor''s brother, Dean the actor, suggests that his brother is just a Fort Wayne city slicker type Rev. Al Sharpton or the elder Rev. Jessie Jackson. No, those are not the words used by Dean, this what Dean wrote,

"Hines and Robinson's September '08 gripe had to do with Mayor Henry not
employing enough black people in their opinion. These men were not concerned
with fair opportunities for minorities and all people. They just want job quotas for black people — period.

These men do not understand the full meaning of racism. INK is a racist bully pulpit. Mayor Henry capitulated to Hines and
Robinson's racist manipulation. These men deserve what they get from one
another. There can not possibly be any trust among them. They have made careers
of compromising their principles. The citizens of Fort Wayne can now watch the
compromises out in the great wide open."
{bold print was added}

In essence a comparison to the two civil right icons who uses race to make raced white folks shake in their boots kinda behavior used against Henry by the tag team..

Dean used his acting skills to call this black racism.

But those in the African-American community who do not play to raced white audience, like the Robinsons do simply call it sale out behavior or tomfoolery.

bELOW YOU WILL SEE THE STAGED AMBUSH APLUSK STYLE.

But this episode of the Robinsons calling one brother a racist smacks of any print is good print or exposure type behavior. Neither brothers have the power to bring down the raced white elites who run the city's purse strings and provides contracts and jobs.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program

I arrived in Fort Wayne yesterday around 7:33 P.M. and could not find any wi-fi to plug-in. The most wired city in the United States. So, I am a little late, but I won't to tell you that I did get a chance to see one of the homes in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

The Mayor is scheduled to appear at 3:00 P.M.

Online Layaways for the Holidays

Reports have it that consumers spending on clothes, travel and cars are down. Folks are counting the dollars they are spending. K-Mart and Sears have decided to off the old stand by for penny pincher's, lay-away. Except this time, the stores will offer an online layaway payment. The kickoff for National Layaway Week started October 5 through October 9. Folks will be able to layaway their holiday purchases for eight weeks.

Pure Genius.

Southern Indiana receives 700 H1N1 Doses

Some Children in southern Indiana will receive their vaccine against H1N1.
The H1N1 vaccine has arrived in Kentuckiana. Wednesday, Floyd County, Indiana health officials announced they have received their first shipment of 700 doses of the mist vaccine and said their plan is for school children to get their doses first.

Permission slips were sent out and 30% of the slips were returned with the go ahead.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent seems to believe that the public reluctant to embrace tbe vaccine is out of fear. Dr. Gupta caught the seasonal flu not in the United States but while covering a war in Afghanistan. Dr. Gupta is not in any of the target groups a for the flu. Dr. Gupta survived the flu like others who did not get the vaccine.

Some families are forgoing the vaccine because they don't know where to get it in their community. Other families believe that the vaccine is readily available for free. When in fact the vaccine may have a cost attached to it, an option to providers who are not connnected to a state run clinic.

In a nutshell, folks are wondering how much will they have to pay after the shot is commercialized and how will they be able to tell if the shot they receive is from a reputable provider?

President Barack Obama shades the discussion on race

President Barack Obama, is not the candidate to narrate the discussion about the historical degradation of African-Americans in the United States. Nada, the first African-American to hold the title to the highest office is simply a first generation African-American. President Obama was born to a woman out of Kansas and a Kenya father. This would leave a cuss on the son. The cuss of what do I call myself in America?

Of course, some in the United States especially amongst bi-racial family what to believe the cuss is over. Over because President Obama regal supreme in the WHITE HOUSE. These families believe President Obama represents the color blind mythical theory, that no longer does the historical pain and suffering of African-American from discrimination exist. Holding up high, this young man who attended Harvard, worked in a law firm served as a Senate of Chicago, and now the POTUS. What better proof that skin color does not matter !! They have alright the right in the world to have the audacity to hope.

The reality is that skin color does matter. President Obama represent levels of blackness within and outside the United States. Forget that biracial special feeling of whiteness, here is a young man raised by his raced white mother with the support of his mother’s parents. A young man who rarely saw his Kenya father, but his mother did marry someone else. Who lived in Hawaii. This is the colorblind focus point, but President Obama is still labeled "black."

President Obama says he was born black on a talk show, it propped laughter. You can't miss the fact. Laughter, because President Obama blackness did not prevent him from becoming President of the United States, but it did not erase his connect the dots to blackness. And because of that connection to blackness, some would explain the level of hatred that is displayed against the President. Not simply because the President has put forth some policies that these folks don't necessary agree with. those who gather to spill hatred against him is not doing simply based on race. Denial sounds good, but President Obama has some enemies simply for being black.

Obama's blackness is akin to Clarence Thomas. Thomas exhibited this level of blackness during his confirmation hearing. The grandson of a sharecropper, who worked hard. The type of blackness that Rev. Jesse Jackson eluded to not knowing an open microphone catching his words. A blackness that power requires one self to extract from the masses. The masses remain predominately isolated and impoverished. Thomas distance himself from this blackness, and pointed that was his sister blackness not his blackness. His blackness is color blind, he does not relate to the masses problems in the black community.

The difference in their blackness was that Thomas sister was dependent on the narrative of a victim of the historical racial discrimination. But Thomas went to great heights emerging himself into the American culture that previously denied African-Americans access, even attending one of America's prestige school, Yale. His blackness was now connected to those who could make a different, the Washingtonian or those who worked hard. Those who represents individually, that the masses are no longer in the binary of despair based on their skin color.

POTUS Obama represents the other colorblind society. Those who are first generation African-Americans who have no connection to the history of slavery in the United States. The POTUS mother unlike Thomas's sister was able as a single mother expose her son to male role models, her parents, and married later on in life. This son was able to attend the prestige Harvard. This son cannot be drawn into the debate of what does the United States owe to those African-Americans who are still lingering under the institutional impact of a system based on race. This blackness is disengaged from the black community simply because a raced white parent raised them.

The POTUS is able to maneuver his way through the obstacles of blackness with the circumstances that lifted him above the narrative of those born in the America as the descendants of slaves. So when he speaks, he goes to raced white privilege, my mother, her parents, his education and finally, his father was a Kenya, who was absent from his life, but an African. But, still the POTUS understand in America, he is an African-American, he is not the same as his mother or his mother's grand parents, but he is no poor black NEGRO.

Indy Capitol Maybe ready for H1NI: How about Allen County?

Indiana Governor Mitchell Daniels had this to say about Indiana being one of the first of its health workers to get inoculated against the swine flu:

"We in Indiana are out to be first in things whenever we can these days," Daniels said. "I'm told that with this delivery today, we will be the first state to actually begin protecting … our health professionals."Initial shipments of the nasal mist vaccine are so small that, in most cases, they're being reserved for health workers so the workers remain healthy and can care for and vaccinate others.

But, the Republican Governor must have been speaking about Indy because Allen County does not even have a swine flu clinic :

"We still don't have any specifics so we haven't been able to determine when we'll be able to have our clinics here," said Dr. Deb McMahon of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department."

Although Marion County was giving out nasal mist yesterday, the best Allen County could do was convene a panel to discuss the H1N1. No Clinics in Allen County to support a pandemic of the swine flu, not yet.

Initial shipments of the nasal mist vaccine are so small that, in most cases, they're being reserved for health workers so the workers remain healthy and can care for and vaccinate others
.

Maybe, Allen County Health workers are waiting on the shots.

Indiana leads the way with H1N1 Vaccine

Republican Governor Mitch Daniels attended the nasal misting of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine to Indiana Health workers. The 1st to receive the flumist, was Wishard Memorial Hospital emergency room physician, Dr. Charles Miramonti.

Indiana's first dose was administered to Dr. Charles Miramonti, an emergency room physician at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. He was given the FluMist vaccine in front of a bank of television cameras at an event attended by Gov. Mitch Daniels.

Health care officials throughout Indiana staged events where workers could receives the vaccine. 3500 health care workers are being targeted as first responder to receive the rare vaccine.

Fort Wayne is one of 43 state health departments that is expected to receive the vaccine. Fort Wayne health department will convene a panel to discuss the H1NI and if media is accessible to first responders during a swine flu pandemic crisis. Residents will not be on the priority list until the 4million inject able vaccines arrive on the scene later in the month.

Everyone is not excited about the mandatory vaccine. Nurses in New york and Washington are protesting having to get the vaccine. Some nurses could lose their jobs if they comply with the mandate. Hospitals will have to take on the liability of patient dying from health care worker attending them while sick with the flu. In Washington, the Washington State Nurses Association has filed a lawsuit against a health system threatening nurses with be fired if they don't get the vaccine or don't wear face masks.

The Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) said MultiCare’s flu shot requirement “blatantly ignores their legal obligation to bargain with the union.”

Do you think Indiana has union presence for its states' workers????

Pontiac Street goes to the garbage: Fort Wayne style

What city would proposal a garbage dump close to residential dwellings?

The owners of the former Fort Wayne Foundry site on Pontiac Street wants a garbage dump on its property as a way station for collected garbage. In addition, an adjacent transfer station owned by Summit Recycling & Transfer will be used for recycling. It is a good marriage for the two businesses, the recycling business would be able to sort through the garbage for recycle to sell. But what about the residents who live in the neighborhood?

What neighborhood is this?

A neighborhoods that is predominately African-Americans in an old manufacturing neighborhood. You know the type of neighborhood where companies built houses for its workers to live close by. It was the northern way of life that was akin to the slave plantation. Except, these folks could rent houses from the company owners. Now that era has almost passed, raced whites moved to the suburbs, and African-Americans family steered to the area have inherited the declining neighborhoods.

Now, that the manufacturing is in decline, the public nuisance needs cleaning up. Instead, monied owners are turning the area into sites for dump? Economic development in these neighborhoods once limited to liquor stores, hair salons, barber shops, soul food restaurants, and daycare centers. These businesses do not generate enough income for duplicity or divestment into other types of business for the neighborhood. What happens as the owners age out and no one to replace the businesses tracts of abandoned and undeveloped property began to cluster up the neighborhoods. Sometime, investors will land bank clusters of property in these neighborhoods.

By land banking the area, these owners sit on the property hoping to sell the properties to outside investors willing to pay a large sum for the overpriced property. While merchants wait om these investors, the area become infected with quick change artists,ie,, dope dealers and poverty pimp agents. STill some in the community believe that development will come, even if long overdue.

Now the greatest of insult, the plan is for the area will be a garbage dump, overpowering pollution, congested traffic from garbage trucks and more TB, lead poisoning and cancer to join the permissive drug dealing. Can you imagine anything worse to an area so neglected?

The mayor of the city, Tom Henry's brother has a stake in this new trash hauling company called, Earth First, LLC.
The new company plans to use the new waste transfer station at the former Fort Wayne Foundry to ship its garbage to Jay County.

Sounds like a green project huh, with a huge ring of environmental racism. Many of these trash transfer station are disproportionally ending up in low income neighborhood that are predominately African-Americans.
In its simplest form, a transfer station is a facility with a designated receiving area where waste collection vehicles discharge their loads,
according to and Environmental Protection Agency report. The new business will conducts it's recycling component even if they don't get the $9 million dollar a year contract for hauling garbage.

So, what does the residents have to say about this change in their neighborhood? The EPA report suggest the public should be involved, “siting process that includes continuous public participation is integral to developing a transfer station. The public must be a legitimate partner in the facility siting process to integrate community needs and concerns and to influence the decision-making process. Addressing public concerns is also essential to building integrity and instituting good communications with the community. Establishing credibility and trust with the public is as important as addressing environmental, social, and economic concerns about the solid waste facility.”

Something tells me that was never part of the $9 million deal.

Fort Wayne NSP : What's UP

Fort Wayne received $7 million from the federal government to stabilize neighborhood suffering from foreclosed home. That’s right seven million dollars for down payments, closing cost and restoration. Next week, Fort Wayne will highlight builders and developers, open house October 9, 10, 11.

2319 John St., Ideal Builders
2302 Florida Dr., Gerber Building
1903 Kensington Blvd., Gerber Building
2412 Gay St., Lancia
1137 Rivermet Ave., Belay Builders
2429 Smith St., Miracle Builders
4502 Winston Dr., Gerber Building
533 East Creighton Ave., Miracle Builders

Did you count eight homes? For almost 10 years Indiana foreclosure rates as outpaced the national rate. For seven years Indiana has placed second and first place amongst the 50 states in foreclosed homes.
The federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 is in the house to give families of low income a chance at succeeding. “Homebuyers at or below 120% of area median income up to $15,000 (not to exceed 20% of purchase price) to purchase a foreclosed home as their principal residence.” The program places foundation for young folks living in areas that are disproportionately affected by foreclosures, blight and abandonment. I

“Every census block group in the state was evaluated for its qualification as a low-, moderate-, or middle-income area. That is, a census block group was considered an eligible area if more than 51 percent of the people in the area had incomes less than or equal to 120 percent of Area Median Income in 2000.” If these funds are not used by the city the funds may go back to HUD.

In May 2009, a second load of funds will go to designated locales called NSP2. these funds authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Recovery Act) of 2009, provides grants to states, local governments, nonprofits and a consortium of nonprofit entities. In addition the monies from the community development block grant can be used to assist low income to moderate income families.

IN addition, NSP-TA funds will be available for technology purposes. Fort Wayne leaders in the African-American community where's you at?

From the HUD website:

How long do States and local communities have to spend this money?

Grantees have 18 months to obligate these funds, and four years to expend funds. Congress was very clear that this money be put to work quickly. HUD expects that grantees will have contracts signed or, at minimum, made written offers for properties within 18 months. Options or other non-binding instruments are not acceptable.
.
How does HUD determine when NSP funds have been obligated?

“Funds are obligated for an activity when orders are placed, contracts are awarded, services are received, and similar transactions have occurred that require payment by the state, unit of general local government, or subrecipient during the same or a future period. Note that funds are not obligated for an activity when subawards (e.g., grants to subrecipients or to units of local government) are made.” In other words, HUD expects grantees to obligate funds to specific activities.

The following are examples of obligations for a “specific activity”:
• Execution of an agreement with a REO holder to acquire one or more foreclosed upon properties;
• Execution of a contract to rehabilitate an abandoned or foreclosed upon property;
• Execution of a loan agreement;
• Issuance of a purchase order for equipment/supplies used to maintain acquired property;
• Execution of a demolition contract;
• Administrative action necessary to assign a staff person to work on NSP activities.

The execution of a subrecipient agreement would NOT qualify as an activity that counts toward meeting the 18-month obligation requirement.

UPdate on how Fort Wayne sells the NSP program by Journal-Gazette Don Stockman posted October 4, 2009, Grant rehabs homes, neighborhoods, lives.

Note: I am not absolutely positive on this but I would suggest that if a developer is spending more than the appraised value of a home, that the city is using CDBG funds to pay the developer the difference. I see no other way to explain why the developers would not stick to homes that could be rehabbed within the allotted amount.

Ashley Jewell Sudden Death Shock Real Housewives of Atlanta Fans

Kandi Burruss casted as the new addition on the Bravo reality show called Real Housewives of Atlanta. Burruss was introduced with her fiance at the time Ashley Jewell (AJ), bringing some relationship drama to the set. Audiences tuned in weekly to find out just what was going on with the ladies on the show. Especially, the tumultuous relationship of Burruss and Jewell. Burruss’s mom did not appear to give the seal of approval on the coupling. AJ fans will no longer have to wait on if a marriage will happen between Burris and Jewell.

On October 3, 2009 AJ in real life lost his life. AJ died after being taken to an hospital from a head injury. Penske Automotive Group and General Motors :No Saturn Deal

It's been reported, General Motor has called a halt to the production of the Saturn vehicles.

GM halted production of all Saturns as of yesterday. The current new models for sale include 2008 Astra and the 2009 Aura, Aura Hybrid, Outlook, Sky, Vue and Vue Hybrid.

The 350 dealership will have to contains with the limited Saturn inventory that remains in their showrooms. A deal hatched back in May, 2009,of saving the Saturn dealership with South Korean Samsung vehicles replacing the Saturn evaporated. Penske Automotive Group (PAG) acquisition of the Saturn brand and other assets from General Motors (GM) in a memorandum of understanding between the two fell through.

Auto tycoon Roger Penske has shown signs that he is slowly putting together another business venture with his admitted interest in buying Saturn from GM. News this week indicates that once he has Saturn in his grasp, Penske will reportedly distribute and sell Korean-built Renault Samsung models via the American brand's nationwide dealership network.

Those penning their hope on the sell of Saturn to former car racer and automotive businessman Robert Penske are at a mystery as how the deal unraveled. Fort Wayne Jim Kelley, the sole Saturn dealership in the city was one of 250 hopeful left holding the bag as reported in a local newspaper:

Kelley said that, during a Thursday conference call with GM authorities in which he participated, there was no indication of what triggered Renault-Nissan's decision to back out

However, a press release reveals:

Penske Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: PAG) an international automotive retailer, today announced that it has terminated its discussions with General Motors Company ("GM") to acquire the Saturn brand, citing concerns directly related to the future supply of vehicles beyond the supply period it had negotiated with GM.

And General Motors had this to say:

Today we learned that Penske Automotive Group (PAG) has decided to terminate discussions with General Motors to acquire Saturn. This is very disappointing news and comes after months of hard work by hundreds of dedicated employees and Saturn retailers who tried to make the new Saturn a reality. PAG's announcement explained that their decision was not based on interactions with GM or Saturn retailers; rather it was because of the inability to source new products beyond what it had asked GM to build on contract..

The Wall Street Paul Ingrassia suggest that the Saturn dealership operating as an independent car company distributing its competitors vehicles may have contributed to the transaction falling apart.

On Wednesday, what appears to be Saturn's death knell sounded when Roger Penske, the legendary automotive entrepreneur, abandoned his plan to buy Saturn from GM and run it as an independent car company. Mr. Penske's plan was a long shot anyway. He had intended to make Saturn a distributor and retailer only, procuring the vehicles from auto makers—initially GM and then France's Renault—on a contract basis.

One inherent problem was that the companies making cars for Saturn also would be its competitors, if only indirectly in Renault's case. (Renault controls Nissan, which competes head-to-head with Saturn in the U.S.) So it was little surprise when Mr. Penske couldn't reach acceptable terms with Renault and pulled out of the deal.

Renault-Nissan board were not as convinced as Chosn on the deal.

Ingrassia does not want anyone to think the demise of Saturn can be blamed on Penske. Nor is the blame on the workers, blame goes to Gm and UAW leadership.

Black Women blast gay community

An email with the content below was allegedly to be the reason for a young lady dismissal from her job:

I can't believe this wedding. It's 2 men. They don't smile in a lot of pictures and they look like a few brothers I've seen in the streets looking STRAGHT. Black women can't get a break, either our men want another man, a white woman (or other nationality that's light with straight hair), they are locked up in jail or have a "use to be" fatal disease. I'm beginning to believe Eve was a black woman and we Black women are paying for all the world's sins through her actions (eating the apple)."

This email has generated some hostility and conversation on the bias expressed in the email. It is suggested that the woman is discriminating against a whole host of folks. I disagree. Nowhere do I see in the email any threats. What I do read in the email is her competition for getting an African-American male. Nor no I see it as anger, but an opinion on filtering that is needed to insure you have marriable material,(down low, passing for straight, or HIV carrier, and those who do not want an African-American female).

Now, the young lady personal expression about personal relationship should not be exchanged at work. She was at work doing personal stuff on their dime. Because, it was done on company time, the company had to do a disclaimer that they did not support the opinion expressed by the young lady or using their work equipment for such behavior and not for the purpose that it was intended.

Having said that, I want to say, that the young lady was thrown under the bus by the gay and lesbian community to attack the African-American women for not collectively joining the Gay pride movement. Especially those women who fill the pews of the African-Americans churches. This is the argument of the raced white women who separated themselves from the African-Americans movement to yell "women first" during the civil rights movement. No different than the powerful Abigal Addams into the ear of her husband, John Addams,"Remember the ladies". Raced white women rights before the rights of enslaved men. In other words, we raced white women sleep with you, and have your babies, but that did include African-American women!!!b Now the raced white gay community need the support of the African-Americans for marriage, but still practice racialist behaviors by attacking us.

The young lady did not say anything against the two getting married, and (that's the issue) the couple pictures posted on face book drew out anti-gay sentiment. Now, if you watch Real Housewife of Atlanta, you see the the interaction of the gay community and African-American women. African-American women understands the acceptance of the gay community. And at the same time they understand the political manipulating by raced White women to push their own agenda.

And when the gay community attempts to say that their opposition is the same as the African-American community, it becomes a "RME(Rolling my eyes)" moment. They love gay African-Americans women, but are suspect of other who are not. I remember the hostility I received when attending a Gay study class. I was told folks did not want to be known in the African-American community, for not appearing on a panel because I was in the classroom. No the real reason, the female did not known that she was dating within the raced white population where she was hiding as a lesbian.

And when I was interviewing for a job, by the former professor of this class, I was asked whom issue do you think is the greatest at this time, the black or gay? I did not hesitate to say African-Americans. Needless to say, I did not get the job. The issue of discrimination in the workplace for African-Americans is not simply pretending, the skin color brings out hidden racialist behavior.

Audre Lorde writing expresses experiencing this racialist behavior, so this is nothing new, but explain those pseudo consciousness of those blacks 9Michael Steele persona) who believe that black comes second when they move about in the gay community.

Amber Alert: 12 year old pregnant child and her 11 year old sister

If I say anything about who I believe to be involved in pregnating this young child, I just might get sued.

So, I am going to point you to
field negro blog
.

Update: Two Hess girls have been found. Oh, it's going to take DNA to convince me that my initial thought of the baby's daddy is dead wrong. Stay tuned.

What Media speaks for the African-American Community?

In May, 2009 I wrote about the sale of WAMO. The parent company Sheridan Broadcasting's sale of WAMO-FM , urban AC WAMO-AM and gospel WPGR-AM (1510) "left Pittsburgh devoid of any black radio outlets and provoked petitions at the FCC to block the sale to St. Joseph Missions." Folks were upset about the sale going to a raced white religion group. Seeing this as a direct impact from the House Bill 848 authored by Detroit Representative John Conyer.

Now a Grand Rapid, Mich judge has intervened to prevent the sale of the radio station catering to the African-American gospel audience in Grand Rapid.

After defaulting on $360,000 in loans, WJNZ-AM was sold in an auction to Holy Family Radio, which intends to flip the outlet to religious programming. But a county circuit court judge blocked the deal from closing on Friday, after dozens of supporters of the station's urban AC format protested inside and outside the courtroom.

The root of the problem is that early financial support was not put back into the community or organization to insure that when raced white sponsorship disappeared the station would continue to stand. Had little businesses been established, perhaps these station would be able to support itself after the loss of ad revenue.

We see this loss of ad revenue having an impact on one of the oldest African-American publication, Ebony Magazine. The fact that the radio was a cheap way for fans to listen to their favorite artists is now being replaced by other media outlets that the African-Americans entrepreneurs were slow to embrace. Now the 64 year old Ebony is rumored to be up for sale The annual Ebony Fashion Fair Show is canceled for the first time because of the lack of sponsorship. Slow to divest funding to the new communication technology believing African-Americans would be the last to embrace this personal media.

O Magazine published by Hearst could be blamed for the fall of Ebony. O lead by co-venture, Harpo, LLC owner Oprah Winfrey, incorporates radio, television and print media steering African-Americans to the Internet. Although, O is not targeted exclusively to the African-Americans audience, it is used as an consumer media for upward mobile African-Americans women who were part of the Ebony magazine family.

One of the most successful launches in history, O, The Oprah Magazine is a National Magazine Award winner and 12-time finalist, and has been on Adweek's Hot List nearly every year since its debut in 2000. Touching on a broad range of subjects, with an emphasis on personal growth, the magazine incorporates everything from philosophy and spirituality to style and relationships. O connects with readers and encourages them to reach for their dreams.

Pepsi has decided to target the younger upward mobile African-American women with a website. Pepsiweinspire.com has sliced out a young music loving group within the African-Americans community that is lost both to O and Ebony. These folks are wired to the hip hop community.

So what does it means for the radio television station? That these folks are not waiting on old established media to go to them for their voices to be heard. These folks are not interested in the fight between legislation impacting radio station. These folks are mobilized behind their consuming habits and not those of the media owners who live a different lifestyle.

Derrion Albert

Derrion Albert death is representative of the public nuisance that are allowed to prosper in many African-American communities. Albert funeral is scheduled for today.[Update: funeral is scheduled for Saturday.] Ms. Pence writes about her community. However, it could have been easily written about my community in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The media will use the images to tell the story of how violence African-American youth have become. Instead of telling how city leaders neglect to improve the quality of live of one area when insuring that racial segregation will get them re-elected.

Kanye West..done already told ya..Bush (substitue your city leader's name) don't care about black people.
