Indiana Governor selection for Indiana Criminal Justice Institution, Michael Cunegin, II

Michael Cunegin, II, the new executive director of Indiana Criminal Justice Institution. The story is on the Fort Wayne Observed.

Cunegin,II, a sergeant with the Fort Wayne Police Department. As the lone African-American Republican, Cunegin was elected to the Allen County Council. Also, he was appointed to the Indiana Commission on the Status of Black Males.

Cunegin, II replaces Heather Bolejack. Bolejack an African-American female was terminated under alleged wrongdoing. Bolejack is the second executive director to be removed from that office. The ICJI is an agency that provide funding for Indiana criminal and juvenile system.

It is surprising that this is the second African-American from Fort Wayne connected to the Republican Party and Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, the that has been appointed to position.

Cunegin,II may not be leaving Fort Wayne but will be leaving his political position on county council. Let's see if the Fort Wayne Republicans will replace Cunegin, II with an representative from the African-American Community.

    Funny.....

Having known Mike for close to twenty years, I thought he represented the Fort Wayne community. Where is this Africa-America? Is that like Leo-Cedarville? Or more like Fox Lake used to be? And where is this African-American community located?

If it's outside Allen County, I would understand how someone from there wouldn't be eligible for the "Allen County" Council. I think you have to be a resident here to be elected.

    Just my .02 worth.
