Play Ball!!!

The Downtown renovators are pushing for the baseball stadium. I suppose this will bring clientele to support the restaurants and new retail businesses that the city is hoping will relocate to downtown.

This will probably be the only way private land investors can get their money back. There is little foot traffic in the downtown area, after business hours. Of course, we have that beautiful convention center. What was the city thinking? Gas prices steady climbing, folks are not traveling very far to attend events. Besides, what makes our convention center more attractive than other convention centers to want to make folks rush to our downtown. Didn't the city do a study of big cities' convention centers and how they are losing money? You know our city is good for paying for studies before taking action.

Oh I forgot about the new library. Let's see the library is asking for a 4% operation cost from tax payers, and the library is not even open. Hmmm, now a baseball field, will be the answer to downtown revitalization. Who will be the famous person to throw out the first ball????
