Lieberman -I'll be back as an INDEPENDENT

Democrats selected two newcomers over their experienced opponents. Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman was ousted by Ned Lamont. Atlanta's first African-American female senator Cynthia McKinney was given the boot by Atlanta voters in favor of Hank Johnson.

Lieberman, 18 years holding the Connecticut's seat, will attempt to return to power running as an independent. Lieberman believes mainstream voters did not turn out for the election, a mere 15% of voters turned out for the runoff. Lieberman suggest running as an independent will provide voters an option for those tired of divisive politics. Lieberman blames his downfall not on the war but these extremists-no not terrorist but bloggers.

Bloggers covering races are giving candidates and exclusive journalist type media the blues. Bogging is a new tool for grassroot activists in their toolbox to get out the vote.

Side note: Is this a Willie Horton photo treatment of McKinney? And is Lieberman's contention that he is a Democrat be his way of saying Lamont is not a real Democrat? And is Lieberman running as an Independent, his way of insuring that Lamont does not win against the Republican running on the Republican ticket? Hmmmm
