Speaking of small time dope dealers, I read earlier this morning on FWOB, about a comment made by Karen Richards, Allen County Prosecutor. Richards, statment on the FWOB was something like, "Why not slam 'em from the beginning and forget this foolishness?" says Karen Richards, county prosecutor in the Fort Wayne, Ind, supposedly quoted in the Wall Street Journal. Because, the real criminals are the suppliers, and you do little to get them!!!!
Reading FWOB, it sounds like Richards, didn't care for a program where police would develop relationships with individuals who may have some influence on turning a person away from drug dealing. And if the second chance didn't work for the violator, he or she would probably end up in jail.
Richards, can't be too bright if she missed the concept of giving hungry young thugs a second chance instead of paying for their incarceration for life. Richards is probably more about winning cases. Besides, the majority of drug dealers who face harsh and long sentences looks nothing like Richards. Heck, the majority of the people she works with at the prosecutors office don't look like the ones she wants to lock up and throw away the key.
FWOB, goes directly to the source, and interviews Prosecutor Richards. Here's a snippet of that interview:
"I have several problems with the program, one of which is our community is much different from High Point, NC. That's a fairly small community where they have open-air drug dealing in very easily identifiable neighborhoods within the inner city. We don't have that."
Could someone give her a call and John Good could you ask her to ride with you and Police Chief York down the 2500 block of Warsaw, to see that yes indeed OUR CITY, Fort Wayne does have open-air dope dealing in specific neighborhoods. And if she talked to Drug Enforcement, or a few citizens, they probably could show her some other open-air street dealings, but I already say she does not seem too bright, or she really knows how to play the public stupid.
So what you're saying is let's give all the black gang bangers a few chances and see if they reform? How many people have to die before you decide they've had too many chances?
ReplyDeleteWith you, it is always about race. I'm ashamed to have you as a member of my race, Black that is.
First what was the article about?
ReplyDeleteSecond, I am not a black conservative, so feel no ashame, I am an African-American, who is an independent.
Third, nothing in the article had anything with dying or "black gang bangers."
And yes, I am not color blind, and I've always lived in a mixed neighborhood. Always.
But, you just wanted to throw darts, right?
She already knows where to score the good stuff
ReplyDeleteNo "definable neighborhoods"? Karen must be testing the evidence locker stuff again!
ReplyDeleteTry the 4600 block of Warsaw - the 500 block of Maple Grove - the Senate Bar at Pettit & Monroe - try 4800 block of Avondale - Gaywood & Sherwood Terrace (where there were TWO shootings today, hopefully not related) - the 4000 block of Monroe - the 4800 block of Lillie...
D.A. Richards...need I go ON?
Like another blogger stated...ABOITE doesn't need more police...the SOUTHEAST side does...ask Asst.Chief Becher (as I have).
AS long as you have a definitive police PRESENCE, the crime will drop...anything less is just counter-productive.
And as for Community-Oriented Policing...it ONLY works when the "community" wishes to get involved...not before.
((just my 2 cents worth))

ReplyDeleteMaybe DannyBoy should apply that same rationale to his glorious leader, George Bush. . .hmmm?
Black Conservative, my ass!
