African-American Healthcare Alliance of Fort Wayne, Indiana held their 11th annual African-American Healthcare Alliance Scholarship Ball on November 11, 2006 at the Grand Wayne Center. The nonprofit organization provides raised funds for scholarships. The 2006 Scholarship recipients are Monique M. Gooden a fifth year pharmacy student at Purdue University, Elicia L. Harris is a second year medical student at Indiana University, Dwight E. Mosley is a fourth year medical student at Ohio State University, DeShawn T. Stevenson is a pharmacy D student at Xavier University of Louisiana, Michael W. Hayden, Jr. is a sophomore medical student at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tn, and last but not least Gina Johnson is a first year student at Indiana in Indianapolis University in Indianapolis, In.

The keynote speaker at the event was, Dr. Louis Sullivan, the founding president of Morehouse School of Medicine. The first minority medical school established in the United States in the twentieth century.
