Fort Wayne Police Department Southeast Crime Statistics for 2006

From the No I don't want any Fries with my shake letter:

The southeast quadrant has experienced a cumulative crime decrease of 22.23%.

During 2006, ten (10) homicides occurred in the southeast quadrant-seven (7) fewer than during 2005.

This represents a 41.2% reductions in homicides occurring in the southeast.

We also saw significant decrease in aggravated assaults, when simply stating are assaults (or batteries) where to victim's injuries require medical attention. during 2006 the number of aggravated assaults occurring southeast was reduced by 19%.

The southeast quadrant experienced a 5% reduction in the number of non- fatal shootings last year. There were 19% fewer incidents involving family violence in our quadrant during 2006.

We are continuing to work closely with ATF in their Safe Neighborhoods initiative in an attempt to get more guns off the street and, through federal assistance, to prosecute to the fullest those responsible for gun violence.

During 2006, the 85 FWPD officers assigned to the southeast division were successful in removing 342 guns from the streets. South east crime for the first months of 2007 is down almost 22%.

Below is the rest of the letter:
