I attended the Freimann Family Thursday. It was a success in drawing mothers and their children to the park. The biggest treat for the littlest one was the balloons and the Statute of Anthony Wayne.
The lines were too long for parents to stand in just to get a face drawing or a balloon. Many mothers with their children left the park.
Suggestions: Have more lines.
Have things for the little ones to play on.
Have a musician or songs or two for the little ones.
Have some free snacks, pops, ice cream, Popsicles.
Parents do not want to bring their littlest out and not have something constructive for them to do, even if it's a fun thing. Besides I got tired of hearing students come up to me to tell me it was boring.
So much for fun in the sun at Freimann Family night out with the little ones.

My wife and I brought our kids to the Freimann Family Thursday as well. You are right about the lines - ridiculous! A friend of mine brought his kids and when I arrived about 6:15, I saw him standing in a line for some kind of artwork. When we left around 7:30, he and his brood were still in the line. Also, there were far too many children climbing on the large red iron artwork by the museum. I kept expecting one or more of them to fall and break a bone or two. This thing has the potential to be a success, but they need to put a LOT more thought into it. We'll try again tomorrow night to see if it has changed at all.
ReplyDeleteThe fountain will be the biggest attraction tomorrow because of the heat. Enjoy, it is a good place to hang out, and it's free.
