Isaiah Washington-you're out of here!

Grey's Anatomy is one of my favorite T.V.Shows. Like alot of my favorite shows I have not been watching them. But tonight should be an exciting one, since it is a special. From snippets of newspapers article, my understanding that Isaiah is leaving the show. I am going to miss him.

Sad to see him go. But..it was a matter of time. Damage control. What was Mr. Washington thinking? Name calling. Not cool to refer to your co-worker, T.R. Knight in a negative term based on his sleeping or loving arrangement. Not so cool, and I thought you were oh so cool.

I'm going to watch tonight. Because I believe your power hungry girlfrien is not going to marry you because you are not going to get that chief position. Wedding is off.

  1. Credo you are correct he had no business saying what he did especially when you factor in that hollywood has a much bigger citizenry than the american public.

This should be a lesson to all black that we cant go around saying what we want and get away with. Especially when your employment is based on Non Black people.

I will sorry to see him go as well, I really enjoyed the guys acting

  2. Just because you are the only one in the room with them does not make you one of them.

They can call names all day long. But it's going to cost us a job.

Going to get me some popcorn.

mark bey: Credo this is the sentiment that I hear all over the blogosphere. They are always trying to find ways to keep us down.

If we really believe this things and I have heard this sentiment expressed at least for the last 20 years then we need to adjust.

If we believe that america/the man is out to get us dont help them by shooting yourself in the foot.

Besides hollywood has a bigger percentage of gay people than the american public anyone in the business insulting gay folks will pay a price for it.

  4. It's not that I believe the man is always trying to get us. It's a need to be aware that it's a job, working for someone else who may not have your best interest at heart.

Listen I had a job where the boss would follow me every day. I would hang in the restroom waiting and hoping that he would leave. But nope there he was at the bottom of those stairs.

Oh he was so nice. but I was not interested in so nice. I had to change my strategy because he was going to wait it out.

Oh he had deals for me..all I had to do was just buy what he was selling. Everyday, I went to work with this jerk, nothing meant no, just a moment for the right time, for him to sell his snake oil.

It's just fun and games, right? No, it was not fun and games. It was cat and mouse, and I was the mouse without the right to be left alone. Things that were said, brought chuckles from others. I was not amused. Stuff that is demeaning should not go unchallenged. But folks will participate if they believe it will secure their jobs.

But, this sista was not interested and if it meant leaving the job, so be it. But mines is mine until I say otherwise. There was no need to call the jerk a jerk, he knew he was. Evil.

Imus can go for years saying stuff that gets chuckles. But, Washington, is not given the benefit of the doubt that he meant no harm. That he was parroting what he heard others say around him.

Sharpton, is currently in the media, for saying something about the Mormons. But they talk about Sharpton, the preacher all the time.

Here's another example, I know when the police comes to my house, I'm not saying come on in Mr. Police Officer. He's on his job, he is looking for evidence to arrest me. He ain't interested in my kool-aide. So, I talk to him outside. Nope, we don't need to come into my house, for me to get to know you. Let's meet at the police station.

And the latest example, on my job, stuff changes, and I may ask what happened here? I may get an oh nothing. But, after I've done my own observation. I see my assignment will be switched. I can stand there and curse the woman from head to toe. Nope, got to be smarter than her.

It's does not stop me from doing my job. It makes me aware that on this location, I need to either watch my back or not take the job there. Nor, do I complain, at the end of the day, I let her know I had a wonder day and go on my way.

No need of me telling the other folks the old bitty is this or that. She would have been on that telephone quicker than quick. But, I planted a seed. I know you did something, you may not tell it but I am smart enough to figure it out. Evil.

So, I don't know about always trying to keep us down. I do know there are some evil folks in the world and some of them don't like you because of the color of your skin. Or believe that they don't ever have to or expect to work with or for someone that is African-American.The majority of the folks I work for don't look like me.

I had a woman quit her job rather than for me to train her or be in a position over her.

In the workplace you just have to sometime pray to deal with the man without going to somebodies jail.

mark bey: Credo I am feeling you on comments and I am sorry for the rotten way you were treated at some of your jobs. But to my way of thinking this is all the more reason to for us to invest in ourselves and create more business opurtunities for each other so less of us have to deal with leas BS while trying to make an honest living.

However the way you were treated at work is the way many black people have been treated on the job. But let me ask you a question do black people treat each other any better in the work place? From what I have seen the same pathologies that black folks show in the hood are very similar to the ones we show on the job.

Now the fact that black people too often dont treat each other any better than white folks on the job makes all of what you said in your comments the worse because it means that a hardworking person like you might expierence the same thing in an all black work environment.

" Imus can go for years saying stuff that gets chuckles. But, Washington, is not given the benefit of the doubt that he meant no harm. That he was parroting what he heard others say around him."

mark bey: Imus was an old prick, who played to racist sentiments of some of his listeners as foul as what he said was it does not excuse Isaih for not having enough sense in his head to not say what he said.

If I were gay and I worked on that show I would want him gone as well. If Isaih Washington dosent have enough sense to not say ignorant things about gay people when hollywood is an industry that has more gay people working in it than most others than I aint gonna shed a single tear. If you know the man is out to get you and you say something you have no business saying well tough luck this should teach him better next and please dont confuse where I am comming from because Isaih Washington has been one of my favorite actors for a long time.

" So, I don't know about always trying to keep us down. I do know there are some evil folks in the world and some of them don't like you because of the color of your skin."

Mark bey: Credo the evil folks you refer to have always been with us, you know as well as I do their is no shortage of people trying to hurt black folk or stop us from gainging what is rightfully ours in this country. This includes black folk who are willing to hurt black folk.

" No need of me telling the other folks the old bitty is this or that. She would have been on that telephone quicker than quick. But, I planted a seed. I know you did something, you may not tell it but I am smart enough to figure it out. Evil."

mark bey: Credo evil folks have always been walking around with us as far as Im concerned this is all the more reason for us to begin to get ourselves together and build businesses amongst ourselves so less of us have to go thru what you have been thru on your job.

" In the workplace you just have to sometime pray to deal with the man without going to somebodies jail. "

mark bey: Credo the sentiment in this comment right here has been that black folks have to deal with a whole lot on the job that white folks dont have to.

Once again I have heard this sentiment all my life and if we really believe its true then that is all the more reason for us to start to build ourselves and our communities up into a village that can counteract all of the foul stuff you and other black folk who only want to work in peace have to deal with as well as provide jobs so that less of us have to work man.

Lastly nothing you said changes the fact that Isiah Washington sabotaged his own career by his stupid insensitve remarks. My concern and focus is and always will be what do we do about this unfair treatment do to racism.
