Fort Wayne Native Joins Attorney General's Office
John Phillipp, 26, a 1999 graduate of Homestead High School in the Southwest Allen County school district, on June 6, 2007 took the oath of office for Deputy Attorney General in the State of Indiana. The Attorney General's Office protects the rights and freedom of citizens in the State of Indiana. Phillipp will join the 100 Deputy Attorney Generals and will be one of the four working in collection department.
Phillipp attended Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, graduating with a degree in the law of jurisprudence in May 2006. At graduating from law school, Phillipp served as a law clerk for Solicitor General Tom Fisher, son of Tax Court Judge Thomas Fisher.
Attorney General Steve Carter traveled to Fort Wayne to conduct the swearing in ceremony. Carter commented on Phillip's selection from the Northeast Indiana as representative of the legal talent found throughout the State of Indiana, beyond just Marion. Not only does Phillip bring to the position a legal background, but Phillipp has a Master of Professional Accountancy from the Kelley School of Business from Indiana University.
