How much you want to bet that the GOP meeting today was more about property taxes than about a golf outing scheduled for August? I don't know for sure, but I did see Lisbeth Blosser, the County Auditor leaving the building a little before 1:30 p.m.
I figured that Blosser was there practicing her on air interview to explain why taxpayers did not get their tax bills on the July 16, 2007. I talked to someone in the treasurer office that told me that the tax bills would not be mailed out until July 18, 2007 on a Wednesday.
But the delay in the mailing of the tax bill did not keep me from letting the folks know that their property taxes have gone wild !! Of course they will know this themselves when the tax bills are mailed. One lady paid half her tax bill today, and told the person collecting the money that she hadn't gotten her tax bill in the mail, yet. It's coming the lady was told.
The city and county does not want the same type of uproar that is occurring in Indianapolis, but lady its coming!!!
