Hispanic Leadership Coalition of Northeast Indiana July 16, 2007 meeting

The Hispanic Leadership Grassroot Development Program held another one of their summer session meetings on July 16, 2007. The meeting was about cultural diversity. Gerald Foday, Executive Director, of the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relation was one of the featured speaker.

Some students attended the meeting who were interested in scholarships to reduce the cost of attending college. The program passed out application for six scholarship worth $500 a piece. The Scholarships are called BECA HLCNI and are renewable for up to a total of four successive semesters as long as all eligibility requirements continue to be met.

Latino/Hispanic and first generation college students who will be attending or currently are attending any of the colleges and universities in the City of Fort Wayne who meet the criteria listed below are strongly encouraged to apply for the "BECA HLCNI." The deadline for applying for the grant is July 31, 2007. The scholarships which is for the 2007 school year will be dispersed on August 18, 2007 at the Hispanic Leadership Coalition of Northeast Indiana Gala.

The Gala will be at held at Fort Wayne Marriot, 305 East Washington Center Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana at 6:30 p.m. to Midnight. A live band, Sala y Compania will provide the music. The cost of the event is $50 per person, and the contact person number is 260-481-6413.
