Venus Williams, the 23rd seed from the U.S. won 6-4, 6-1 on Centre Court at London's All England Club against Marion Bartoli. This was V. Williams fourth Wimbledon title, in 2000, 2001, 2005 and now 2007.
Serena Williams lost her match, who played with an injuried thumb.
