"juice" can you say O.J.

Indy Star owes the African-American community of Indianapolis an apology for this cartoon.

This cartoon suggest that African-Americans get away with murder. Allowing Gray to remain sitting on City Council attacking raced white folks is just as dangerous as O.J. The reference to "juice" points directly to the charges that O.J. Simpson got away with murder because of his power.

Racist is not the word, rather it is an attempt at painting with a broad brush the stereotype of African-American males no matter how powerful they can be be unethical dangerous and violent toward raced white folks.

Is this a new way for journalist to get around using the N-word by substituting with the word "juice"?

What's your thoughts on the cartoon caricature?

The above comment demonstrates the lack of understanding about what's going on with the n-word. The word in of itself projects negative vibes unlike any other word therefore, there is no substitute for it. People can use code words or whatever replacement they so chose, FINE. Whenever the n-word itself isn't being used...mission accomplished.

  2. Oh, I fully understand the use of the N-Word.

However, I followed the link and found this:

"I received email from H. Lewis Smith, the author of Bury that Sucka!. He objects to the black community's internal use of nigger as a friendly self reference, but when used by people outside of the community, it is an insult. I agree with him. If the power of the word is to be destroyed it can only be done through consistency."

So do you have something to say about the cartoon?

  3. "Juice" did have a similar street meaning with no reference to OJ. I think it a more dangerous term. It is an implication that black men are gangsters and that they will kill to keep their status. I don't think it a substitute for the N word. I think it's when whites call a black person racist.
Either way the word is used, the cartoon does suggest what you said.
