has anybody reported these incidents to the SLPC, and Morris Dees?
ReplyDeleteWhere's Al sharpton, and Jesse Jackson, or the NOI?
will Monroeville be the site of the next local KKK rally?
and why's nobody asking for Kay (kkk) novotnys head on a platter, for letting things get so out of control?
The FBI crimelab should be checking the DNA, and fingerprints of the aforementioned notes- domestic terrorist in the post 911 world is very serious, indeed.
And what of the ATF? guns arent toys, especially in the hands of Monroevillbillies.
Has this news story made the National news wires yet? or the national black press?
This should be made to cost the local Chamber, and Alliance millions- So we dont have the KKK taking overl, like they did in the 1925 election, where Herbert Hoover, and the First Helmke "Republiklan" was elected.
So we scapegoat the black man for the sins of poverty, and joblessness, created by the rich whites in Washington, Indy< and FTW?
just follow the script- divide and conquer- let the poor of all races fight each other for the scraps of the wealthy corporatists table, instead of taking the table, and the bounty back, to its rightful owners...
same song, different year..
And what of a racial columbine, or virginia tech that shurely could happen here, or anywhere else. guns, and epscially rural rednecks weilding them have been the bane of people of color since time began. Even the first grand wizard of the KKK told his minions to surrender, to submit to the rule of law, and stop "hating". google "Nathan Bedford Forrest" and "surrender speech".
distribute that to all the monroevillbillies, and see what happens. nip it in the bud. And ask for Kay (kkk)Novtnoys head on a platter- the buck stops with her. someone has to take responsibility for her failing to maintain safety, security, and order in her public schools.
dont count on any legal action byt EEEks. they are all unaccountable redneck white racists. good luck.
I'll be praying for you. God help us all..
Thanks for your comments. The parents and students have been very courageous while many in the community has remained silent.
ReplyDeleteThe Leaders of Monroeville has come forward to remedy and prevent such a thing from happening again.
This is a step in the right direction, but not nearly enough.
When I grow up I want to be just like to speak the truth and shame the devil.
Instead of all the posturing by school administrators, the NAACP and the United Way about diversity classes and sensitivity training, how about finding the racists who wrote the notes and expelling them? There is no better way to demonstrate that racial harassment won't be tolerated in EACS than by finding and punishing the guilty.
ReplyDeleteWhy does something so simple get so bogged down in so much pointless pontificating?

ReplyDeleteRacism and racist attacks are on the rise, in southern Indiana and southwestern kentucky. Black farmer's house in KY was shot at; this is the same black farmer who lost his land in a contested farm foreclosure and auction.
ReplyDeleteHi I am a minority college student of a university.
ReplyDeleteI obtained my degree in 2003 after having gone through serious discrimination from certain faculty members/instructors within my program’s department. I documented and kept file of these discrimination incidences, times, dates and locations, as well as, the persons witness and those involved in the discrimination for almost 2yrs. I am still enrolled in the program pursuing my higher degree but through online classes so that I do not have to deal with those persons, directly, due to the past experiences. The discrimination continues, although, also with other new students who are also complaining about the same types of discrimination and people and I also had come into contact with others who also attended the program before me and who had also told me the same thing about discrimination during the time they were also enrolled.
I talked to a few people who put me in touch with these other people that I had found out were also previous students of the college and who also had experienced the same types of discrimination/harassment issues, as I. I had spoken to a previous Caucasian student, who I was buying books from, and she also stated to me they were “prejudice” and named a, specific, faculty member who she said was “racist” and had stated she said she “did not like Asians, blacks or fat people.” She also told me about another minority student who she was friends with and who she said was being discriminated against and was having serious problems. I later found out that this student was actually one of the students who had been in one of my classes and she then told me about very serious discrimination actions she had endured before I was into the program.
The other people I got into contact with included another two other former students who described similar discriminatory actions made against them while they were attending that program as well.
During the time I was enrolled in the program, there were only three minority students out of about sixty non-minority students and we, all three, endured incidences where many racial remarks and discriminatory actions were made. Amongst, most other things, my name was written into exams 3 times and each time in a derogatory way. I have a unique name and in the exams my first and last name were used as an example.
I went to my college’s multicultural department which helped me file a complaint to the affirmative action board and dean. Once the program was aware that I had been documenting the incidences and had made the complaints they started harassing me and could not find any reasons for discharging me from the program so were trying to incite misconduct on me to get rid of me out of the program for outing them. Their misconduct policy was so general and minor things like for example gum chewing or disagreeing with a statement was made as harassing threats towards dismissal from the program under misconduct.
I typed up more than thirty pages about the discrimination that was occurring in that program and also asked that they institute diversity training for faculty and staff and also make efforts to recruit more minority counselors/instructors and hand out college Affirmative Action booklets to all students entering into the program so they are aware of their rights and where to go if they are discriminated against. This was done and included during a meeting with the dean and the college said they had agreed with the measures. I thought that my complaint had gone to the Affirmative Action board and was going to be investigated into but later found out that it had only made it as far as the dean.
I was harassed all the way through the end of my program and was so sickened by the way I was treated and discriminated against that I did not even attend my graduation. I sought legal means during the time I was enrolled and after I graduated but found it very hard as red tape and some attorneys appeared not to want to go such of a big college entity. So I was overwhelmed and stuck on what to do.
I continued to take classes at the college but by online format as pursuing my further degree goals (that I had anticipated all along before graduating and did not want them to deter me from that plus I would have the burden of having to take more classes and some of my credits not being accepted if I went to another college to finish my higher education. I kept taking the online classes as a way to avoid taking on-campus classes and having to deal with them directly. I only had about 4 classes left for higher degree but I could only take them on-campus. When I went to enroll into those classes, they changed the program curriculum and I was told that I would have to go into the new program which includes more on-campus courses and now cannot graduate until completing 10 classes.
I have remained greatly discouraged since I endured that discrimination and I feel they have made my life a living hell since attending there. I have not been able to focus on my education goals and have remained about 4 years behind where I planned to have been by this time and after all of the time and money I have wasted trying to go around them and avoid them but not trying to stop my goals.
Since returning to the college, a few people who I know approached me stating that they presently know of a number of other minorities who are enrolled into the program and who are also enduring discriminatory actions. One girl I met in the bathroom and upon asking her what program I she was in she stated the same program I had been in and stated “If you are interested in their program I would not encourage you to go here!” and she had not known that I had already graduated there some years before. She told me about a couple incidences she had already experienced and then asked for my number and said she was going to give it to two other students, specifically, on Asian student who was also having discrimination problems. That student later called me and then stated similar discriminatory actions made against here by the program as well.
I then spoke to one of my friends a few days ago and had known her cousin was in the program. I asked her how her cousin was doing in the program and she then stated to me that her cousin has now been having problems and was so upset about one incident where she had called her and was crying.
Since it has been known that I was one of the first to stick my neck out and make complaints and report about the discrimination going on at the college; I feel I am paying sourly for this. People continue to approach me and tell me about more and more people who had or are, presently, experiencing discrimination through that program at the college and almost on a regular basis. I had just spoken with my boss and she stated about someone she knows the day before and then the day before that it was the girl I met in the bathroom at the college.
I am sick of this and feel that they continue to discriminate against minorities and are getting away with it, as though they are invincible. This is such a small town that it seems like no one wants to touch it because they are scared because of how big the college is in this city. I was told by three faculty that they were aware about the incidences and feel they are discriminating but they work for the college or are part of the college and can’t speak negatively or that their hands are tied.
There is more than enough people and evidence available about the discrimination in the past and present that has occurred with minorities enrolled into that program at the college. I have a list full of people at this point and want something to happen because I feel it just is not right.
I feel I should have the right to my education just like anyone else and should not be intimidated, harassed and discriminated against for wanting to do that.
Can someone please HELP! I am trying to find an attorney that is not afraid to go against this college and can take this to a Class Action Lawsuit against this college for discrimination.
I am looking for an attorney in Indiana but would like to know if there is any attorney in Illinois but who has jurisdiction in Indiana that would be willing to take on this case. I can get the evidence, names and numbers of those who want to join in a class action lawsuit against the college together for that attorney.
I don’t know if this is a Discrimination law issue, a Civil Rights law issue or a Class Action issue?
