Karen Goldner hopelessly devoted to the good old boys network

It's an African-American male that Karen Goldner is upset with, forget ATO.

From this case 1:03-cv-00222-TLS-RBC in UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
NORTHERN DISTRICT OF INDIANA, FORT WAYNE DIVISION:

Plaintiff claims that she was discriminated against and/or retaliated against by Defendant Norris and the Allen County Building Department because she is black. In support of this contention and by way of her evidentiary materials submitted in opposition to summary judgment, such as they are, Plaintiff Bryant offers only the statement of Gary Gruver who claims that Karen Goldner, executive director of the Community Development Corporation of Fort Wayne (one of the “City Defendants”), stated “Gary, it has been my finding that most Black people starting a business fold up and go broke in less than a year.” “I don’t give money to Black people.” (Pl. Ex. 12). "

What what what...??!!! Hearsay they say..only because it did not follow the procedure to be a legally verified statement...

"First, Defendant must note that both the “Verified Statement of Gary Gruver in Opposition to Summary Judgment, Pl. Ex. 12, p. 39 and the January 30, 2002, letter written by Gruver, Pl. Ex.12, p. 40, must be stricken. The “Verified Statement” is, in actuality, unverified and does not meet the requirements of an affidavit for purposes of challenging summary judgment.

Likewise, the January 30, 2002, letter is improper evidentiary material as it is unauthenticated and represents at least two layers of hearsay.

Even assuming that the “Verified Statement” and the January 30, 2002, letter were proper evidentiary materials, they do not create a genuine issue of material fact concerning Defendant Norris, Allen County Building Department. In sum, Plaintiff’s argument is that she purchased the Lewis Street property with an eye toward refurbishing it; that in order to refurbish the property she sought grants and other monies through several government and/or community programs; that, according to her, she was denied the sums necessary to refurbish the property by these government
and/or community programs because she is black; and that as a result of her lack of grant and/or other money, she was unable to refurbish the building3 because of her inability to acquire funds as a result of the discriminatory actions of others; and that the building was demolished because she never had the opportunity to refurbish the building and to bring it to code. Based on that, she claims that somehow Norris and the Allen County Building Department are to blame and discriminated against her because she is black.

Just in case you're wondering why I question councilwoman Goldner's motives. It's not about the citizens, it's all about Karen.
