White House First-African-American President or Woman Vice-President

The Republicans candidate for President was chosen early, while the Democrats fought amongst themselves and took the selection drama all the way to the Democratic National Convention. The momentum at the DNC continued up to Senator Hilliary Clinton requesting an acclaimation of the nomination to Senator Barack Obama. History was made. No way could the Republican top this showstopper.

So, the Republicans decided to do what Obama had argued about the little people having a voice and did the other historical thing, offer voters the opportunity to elect the first woman to be vice-president. By placing a woman on the Republicans ticket, women voters interested in making history would have to decide on gender or race. Only one other Democratic Congress woman Geraldine Ferraro back in 1984 had attempted this historical feat of VP.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin would symbolize the Abigail Addams'rally cry of women first..before giving rights to others, disguised as a rally cry of 'country first before voting for your party African-American selection.

Nothing to lose and everything to gain McCain realizing that Obama and wife connected to issues impacting families, selected a young woman, Palin to be on his republican ticket.

Borrowing a line from the late Malcolm X, "by any means necessary..", McCain whined with little pain, 'Country First" as he appealed to the women, especially young women, in his selection of gun toting National Rifle Association member Palin. McCain selection would be working mother with five children, one a down syndrome child, and and one being a teenage pregnant daughter, so not the smooth talking wealthy Senator Hillary Clinton.
