Former Fort Wayne Allen County NAACP President Rev. Michael Latham stated the Pontiac building will be donated to the local branch from the city. It appears that negotiation was ongoing by the owner of the building,Fort Wayne Urban League, to sell the building to the city.
The deal was made and the building was recently sold, to be demolished. Accept before the ink was completely dry, there appears to be change in the plan..and that's good news for the local branch of the NAACP.
The donation will be announced at the October 13, 2008 meeting.
