Indiana Hope for homeowner's program

I've written and spoken about the City of Fort Wayne failure to take the help of the federal government in providing housing for low income families. Back in 1937 the federal housing program began and Fort Wayne local officials refused to utilize the funds up to the HOPE VI program.

So it cames to no surprise that ACorn exposed the fact that the City had high predatory loan distributed in the African-American community. Nor was the fact that the City of Fort Wayne had a high number of foreclosures and many of the foreclosures are occurring in African-American community.

If you take a look at Phoenix Housing on Bowsers and the New Renaissance Pointe, you will see that affordable housing is not being built to meet the needs of African-Americans communities. Matter of fact, when you read the reports about these programs including the Harrison Square Project[Parkview Field] many of these projects involve large land acquisition and limited housing to replace the housing that was eliminated.

Marinate on it for awhile.

So, what is the City of Fort Wayne doing to take advantage of the foreclosure prevention programs that will take effect on October 1, 2008. We know that the $7 million dollars has been earmarked to help in the foreclosure crisis in Fort Wayne. We know that this money can not go to fake housing consulting program? So what is Fort Wayne doing.

I think I'll call the Mayor's office.

Done that so back to writing, I could not find anyone that knew about the $7 millions, or the number of foreclosures, or any programs for helping those who may need help in preventing a foreclosure.

Talked with Rebecca at the Mayor's office...could not give me any information. So I read this today on AWB website and FWOB website :

Ozzie Mitson worked for the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce in governmental relations prior to becoming campaign manager for the mayoral campaign of F. Nelson Peters.
Mitson is a republican that is the public information for a democratic Mayor. Strange enough, but evener stranger Mitson has moved in one day to a new position with the same pay :

Mayor Henry today named Ozzie Mitson as his Business/Legislative Liaison

Sound more like a lobbyist as a ghost employee.
