Sarah Palin-the hockey mom cultural warrior

Sarah Palin wants small town middle class undereducated and underpaid women to follow their dream. Their dream of seeing a woman in the White House. This dream can be met by placing a former beauty queen , hockey mom as the Vice President of the Republican party. Palin wants these women to forget their children are unable to find work, are losing their homes to foreclosures would feel better just by placing a symbolic representative of inclusion by voting Republicans. So does Palin really believe women voters are so dumb?

No

So Palin goes even one step farther in stating that she has more experience for her job as vice-president than a grass root activist such as Obama who is running for President of the United States. In other words if these women believe it okay to vote for Obama they can not point to her lack of experience for holding the position of Vice-President.

Accept for one thing.

Obama campaigned throughout the United States to earn a spot on the top of the Democratic ticket. No one sought out an African-American male and placed him on the ticket. Nor did anyone place an African-American female on the ticket as either President or Vice-President. But that's what McCain did. McCain decided to place an untested woman on his ticket. Untested because few of the voters in the United States knew or know Palin.

Who is Palin? Sometimes this same question came out more like, is she qualified to be Vice-President? So who is Palin? The verdict is still out. The Republican National Convention was the introduction of Palin to the larger public with a prepared speech in front of some like minded folks.

Palin did well..attractive and delivered her lines and only mentioned Obama by name once as she labeled him as simply a community activist. And Palin did not to miss an opportunity to take a dig at Michelle, Palin suggest that small town women are born loving America.

Palin embraced her role as the cultural warrior, hook, line, and sinker, with style and class as she licked her polished lip with every zinger send to the Barack family without mentioning names. Nice-nasty, you know the kind. The ones that throw stones at other folks houses while her own house is in disorder.

I don't think Palin speech was enought to attract the fourth wave feminist who are more concerned with saving the whales and the environment? I don't think it was enough for confident third wave feminists who express their true feeling without coded language. I think she will appeal to second wave feminists who are holding onto Hillary as President. And all the first wave feminists are dead. So in the end, Palin may have given Republicans an image makeover with her speech. Women seeking change are seeking more than just a pretty face who can shoot a Gun, selected by angry raced white men, but for a woman who will more their daughters toward the next wave of women empowerment, equal pay, choice and a safe environment.
