Fort Wayne-Allen County NAACP #3049 held a meeting for nominating members for the positions of officers for the branch. The members of the 2008 Nominating Committee of the NAACP Fort Wayne Branch # 3049, J. Synovia Brown, Cortney J. Carlisle, Victor Franks, Angela Lewis and Tim Russell.
To be elected to the Nominating Committee or the Election Supervisory Committee, signing a nominating petition or voting in Branch elections, a member in good standing is one who has been a bona fide member of the branch for at least 30 calendar days prior to the date the election is held or the nominating petition is filed.
The nominating committee on October 13, 2008 submitted the following names for nominations:

V.Eugene Butler-2nd Vice-President
Vince Robinson-Secretary
Tracy Austin-Treasurer
The elected officials become members of the executive committee. The elective officers of the NAACP Units shall be: President, First Vice President. Second Vice President, Secretary, assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer.

Only members in good standing shall be eligible to run for office or vote in a Branch election. For the purpose of running for office, a member in good standing is one whose name appears on the roll of the Branch as a bona fide member of the Branch by April 1 of the election year and who lives and/or works within the Branch jurisdiction
The effective date of Membership in a Branch is the date membership payment is received by the Unite either at a meeting of the General Membership or of the Executive Committee by the Unit Secretary or by the Unit office.
Members in good standing are eligible to vote upon presenting satisfactory evidence of their membership.
The election takes place in November. Members are to be notified within 10 days of the November election and such announcement should appear in one of more newspaper of general circulation at least ten days before the date of the November election.
The ballot should be prepared by the Election Supervisory Committee.
