Nonprofits-Who, what do they do and where do their money come from

I am a researcher, my business name is dowdellresearch, llc. Now, I get call from time to time from folks wanting to know stuff. Of course they never want to pay. They never want to pay, but they know what I do, right!!!!?

Anyways, I am pretty good at the procedural and structural design of businesses and nonprofit. Well, I recently got a call, that was all over the place. And when I get these calls, I attempt to get to the core of the call. Most folks will not tell why they are calling you, they believe they can get their information from you if they just let me talk, talk,talk....

So a week later, I decided to do so research on my own and I came across something else beyond what I would searching for..that happens when you do research sometimes. I found this organization:

Question: Where does they folks get their money from to give to other organization. And why don't these folks just get out the way and let these folks apply for the money themselves?

Just asking the hard questions. and while I am at it, what's the different between this group?
