President Barack Obama told defiant House Republican members, he won. The President attempt at being open, friendly, and funny would not be enough to get bi-partisan support from many of these republican members on the stimulus bill The members were unwilling to follow the lead of Democratic House member Nancy Pelosi. The facts that in the last few days over 50,000 jobs were eliminated, the republicans were not biting on what the President was selling.
Indiana member Mike Pence, in essence stated the President was asking more of the republicans than the President's own Democratic members were willing to do in passing the stimulus bill.
On the President 8th day, Obama has discovered that he is not E F Hutton. Hutton may have gotten folks to listen to him, but the House Republicans just sees Obama as the Democrat commander in chief to just stonewall.
The good news is that Obama could moblize these volunteers to upseat some of these members.
