The story goes that Allen County Chairperson Steven Shine will have a challenger to up seat him. A newspaper article written by one allegedly challenger, Mitch Harper neighbor Kevin Leininger, suggest a coup of grace is brewing inside the GOP.
This is not the first time, that said same individuals worked to bring about change within the party. With supporters of Shines overlooking many antics by their flamboyant leader, a plot was allegedly planned to have a red headed friend of Mitch Harper ( now heads the Recorders office) to run against GOP chairman Shine. This time the GOP takeover is alleged being ran by Matt Kelty;s former campaign manager, Glenna Jehl.

Jehl..
There was a lot of mudslinging as well as behind the back backstabbing of Kelty.
Kelty campaign run for Mayor brought out the dirty politicking of the customs and traditions of the local GOP. Tactics that were used to derail opponents or outsiders, such as Juanita Clay or Wilbert Duke Brown or Ivan Hood was used against one of their own, business man, Kelty. Some GOP members held no punches in going after Kelty and his family.
All the time blaming Kelty, indicitng Kelty all but put Kelty in jail blaming..
Insiders fed each other information to support the defeat of Kelty running the city. But Jehl is allegedly still fighting to grab a hold of the ring of power within the GOP. The story goes if Harper does not bite, Jehl will run against Shine.
Is this the same as planting a story? But wait a minute, where does Harper fit into the story? Harper has a blog, FWOB where I don't believe Harper ever publicly supported Kelty on his blog. I would go as far as to say that Harper was in the Nelson Peters camp. Go check out FWOB and search for positive stories on Kelty vs Peters..
Furthermore, Harper running for the position of GOP chairperson could be viewed as being in conflict with his position on City Council. But isolating the power among a few could be the real objective of ousting Shine. And did you really expect to read any negative comments about Shine in print from Harper in an article written by his next door neighbor, Leininger?
Fort Wayne politics don't you just love it !
