Nonprofits lobbying to kill off Wayne Township

Money is tight and many hobby group nonprofits are suffering. Formed to give certain individuals jobs by pretending to help the needy. Much of the money donated was used to give these individual salary and to buy property. These groups are now threatened with federal guidelines requiring more disclosures. So it no surprise to see that these folks have team up to kill off Wayne Township.

These folks are connected to elected officials and some are appointed to political board by these elected officials. This conflict of interest or nepotism does nothing to help the needy. These individuals support the agenda of their friends who appointed them to whatever board that they just happen to be at the time. So it is no surprise to see Senate bill 512 to eliminate township supported by business leaders.

Governor Mitch Daniels has appointed a selected group of friends to eliminate Indiana townships. In November, voters voted to eliminate township assessor in favor of county assessors. But these were family members who found their way into some of the county assessors' offices. Just a geographical change rather than the Governor elimination of incompetent workers.

However, 13 township assessors were able to hold off these selected high priests' mission of eliminating their positions. Wayne Township assessor was one of the 13. However, Wayne township win is temporary. There is a movement to eliminate the remaining positions with Senate Bill 512. Not only is Wayne township assessor position a target so is the position of the Wayne township Trustee.

It seems that many trustees were cited at the hearing as helping themselves according to the president of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of MYSmartgov. No surprise that the Chamber of Commerce would be involved when its members are the business communities.

Recently, Marilyn Moran-Townsend took a swipe at Wayne Township Trustee Rick Stevenson. Moran Townsend is a boardmember of the lobbying group, Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
