Fort Wayne Tom Henry afraid of offending southside poverty pimps

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry pulls city's support for building 50 rent to own homes in the core of the city. This is the same Mayor who was busting at the seams about a porch revitalizing a community!!!

A porch.

Now the Fort Wayne Mayor has the opportunity to support housing for an area that has long suffered stagnant growth. It's not as if there is not a need. Some folks are worried about poor people bringing down the value of their homes if they let poor folks live in rented housing.

Excuse me Mr. Mayor, but the houses are rent to own homes. This means the folks would have to qualify to purchase the home. I think your friends are afriad of offending the poverty pimp property owners on the southside.

Just my opinion. Here's it goes:

IF adequate housing is not built, folks will have to settle for old military barracks and small housing. Because we know that the majority of the folks on the southside are renters!!! But if these folks have a choice it would leave a lot of those inferior housing empty. And this would drive down the price even farther for those who purchased homes on the southside.

The City has already failed with Phoenix, Harrison Square, Renaissance Pointe grandiose housing plans. All three have not built the housing critical mass to attract buyers!!!!

Do you see the tumbleweed passing through these neighborhoods?

So, its not the Renaissance Pointe neighborhood that your are worried about, now is it Mr. Mayor??? Nope, because Renaissance Pointe is majority African-Americans and the other neighborhoods have a different demograhic. If you had researched the demograpics, Mr. Mayor you would have seen that the city tried to kill a similar project. But the developers. Sterling Group, went ahead with their project without the city's help.

Take a look Mr. Mayor, and these folks built more than 50 units without worrying about African-Americans moving in, not poor people (code words).
