you really have to devoid yourself from reality , when saying " obama is extending a HUGE olive branch " Roland , Obama is extending the occupation and war in Afghanistan , wants an occupation in Iraq ( "need troops in Iraq to protect out interest " )attacking Somalia , CNN rarely reports . So popularity and sweet talk won't fool anybody , get to reality Roland

On the Pirates. Why don't we just go and destroy all their boats and ships. That should stop their pirates cold.

The pirates have "now met their match." They are becoming out of control because when they ask, they were given, so to them, they were winning. Looking at these pirates, millions of dollars does not show on them, so strong guess is, they have some "Big Shots" as their backbone pushing them to these risks. The Somalis are becoming notorious and they should be delt with.
As for the pirates, the USA and other world nation should digg deeper the root(s) of these evils. They could be stopped from their easy rides and this inccident is a good lesson.

That to me sound great since the government want to take over the family. If they go through with that stupid idea then we all know what will happen, Tax payers will then foot all the bills of these kids in food stamps medicare and the rest. Anyway if there is anything we can do is get the illegal immigrants an opportunity to legalize themselves by paying fines as long as they have no criminal past and can show prove the can secure gainful employment pay taxes and take care of the families they started.

A Roland It really bothers me about the whole issue with the Mexican borders, I don't have to tell you about predijudce this whole problem with the borders opens the door for white people in general to run down other people in christ.

The question "should illegal immigrants be separated from their American born children" should not be a yes or no question. The question might be "what would happen to an American citizen who broke our laws. Would he be excused from the crime, or even rewarded, because he had raised a family in the meantime??? What say you?

How do we know these illeagals are working and paying taxes. What about the people who come here study to become citizens pass the test and take the oath of citizenship. So just by pass that and just have children and you will be given citizenship.

  8. should over weight person pay for two seats >>>>>> I was unfortunate enough recently to be on a 10 hour flight and sitting beside a 400 lb. girl. it was the most disgusting experience >>> her "hips" were literally over on top of me, her huge arms were on top of me from my shoulder down > totally disgusting >> I couldn't move literally and there was no other seats for me to move to >> she NEEDED 2 seats and yes she should pay for both of them.

On United Airlines charging large people for two seats if they need two seats: airlines sell seats, the capacity constraint on ticket sales is available seats, if somebody needs two seats, shouldn't they pay for two seats?

If I need two big macs for dinner, and my wife needs one, McDonalds charges me for two handburgers, right?

It is not about weight per se, but mass/size, right. It is not discrimination, it is an objective measurement. If you lap over into a second seat, you need a second seat.

There are a lot of implementation challenges in this no doubt. Like the device that tells you if your bag is small enough for the overhead bin, maybe there will be a belt to measure a waist. However, this only solves the problem if they know to buy two seats up front. Maybe it is a "one strike and you are out" type rule. If you measure too large for one seat, the airlines keep a central database so you cannot book a ticket for one seat.

  11. Do Roland and Georgetown professor Dyson think all the successful white (or other race) CEO's, etc., should just lie down and let the African Americans step into the top spots whether they have proven themselves or not? Surely they can see the ridiculousness of that.We see too much of that and it isn't merely with African Americans.

re: bristol palin's interview w/matt lauer on good morning america.

i really think it's ashame that adults really get a great deal of enjoyment at misfortune of others especially those of children or teens. i'm disgusted that you act like this. this could happen to any of you, and you sit there all self-righteous thinking that you're full of morals and values, while judging a young girl and her teen boyfriend for having sex how many of you had sex when you were teens and how many of you had abortions while in your teens? you criticize her because of her mother this is directed toward her mother we all know it. and what about the "father" why isn't he being chastized for "pimping" himself and his son out for money on talk shows(isn't that what some woman huffington never heard of her must not be very good at what she does, is doing on her blog and than calling it freedom of speech. i guess that's what i'm doing exercising my first amendment right)and the money he's getting is that going towards his son's care or is it going towards his mother's court fees? and as for bristol palin "dancing around" the hard questions what does our president do? oh yeah he doesn't get the hard questions. he gets the fluffy one's like "what enchanted you the most about being in the white house"? what is that. hey, if you guys aren't going to give the president hard questions to answer which he should be getting and expecting to answer on the spot and he's 47 than how can you expect an 18 yr with no experience in politics to answer the hard questions?

what ever happened to journalistic integrity
or is that just an old fashion phrase that went out with the good ones like tim russert, walter cronkite, sam donaldson, you've really disappointed me cnn the way you carry on about things and things that don't really matter much.i guess you could be consider no more than a little more new worthy "E" news, but not much. my days of watching you is coming to an end. i'll just watch you from time to time just to remember why i don't watch you.

i'm sure there'll be some name calling and put downs but hey, i've been put down, pushed around, kicked around by the system and better people than you. and that's ok, i'm an adult i've learned a few things myself. so if you need to bring it on than do.
