President Obama speaks to the African-Americans Church on the right to choose

President Barack Obama will speak at Notre Dame today on the woman's right to choose. All of a sudden women groups have fallen silence on the women's issue. President commencement address at the Roman Catholic university has been met with protest from a few racialists who uses the issue of anti-abortion. But the real reason is to deny the honoring of the first African-American President.

The anti-Obama crowd has for months attempted to gather a large group to shut down the President from speaking at the university. Reports of only about 100 protesters has teamed up to shout out the message from President Obama. However, for the first time an African-American stance will take center stage on their perspective on the woman's right to choose.

I hope First Lady Michelle is presence for this historic moment.

UPDATE 4:46 P.M,:

President Barack Obama gave the protesters at Notre Dame what they dared him to do.

"The president ceded no ground. But he said those on each side of the debate "can still agree that this is a heart-wrenching decision for any woman to make, with both moral and spiritual dimensions."

"So let's work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions by reducing unintended pregnancies, and making adoption more available, and providing care and support for women who do carry their child to term."

"He said he favored "a sensible conscience clause" that would give anti-abortion health care providers the right to refuse to perform the procedure."

Bishop John D'Arcy decided on a no show at the school.

"Bishop John D'Arcy, whose diocese includes Notre Dame, skipped commencement. He attended an open-air Mass and rally. He said he wanted to support the students protesting Obama's speech."

"Obama was the ninth president to receive an honorary degree from Notre Dame and sixth sitting president to address graduates. Other commencement speakers have included Dwight Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush."
