Fort Wayne Indiana ain't the same

I am still in recovery from my trip back to Fort Wayne, Indiana. It's always depressing to see the condition of the Fort. The newspaper reports that there was a dip in unemployment in Allen County. Allen County went from 11 % to 10.6 % Allen County could gloat that its unemployment is the same as the state and national at 10.6%. In other words, that Allen County was not climbing toward the 16% unemployment that is hitting other parts of Indiana, like Elkhart.

You know the head in the sand type mentality headlines instead of having solutions to the growing unemployment. Forget about the fact that their neighbor Michigan is at over 15% unemployment.

As long as the kids are filling up the universities with subsidizing educational funding from the government who cares about the joblessness?!!

Local numbers are even more staggering, with enrollment up nearly 35 percent from the first day of classes last year. The head count at Ivy Tech-Northeast as of Friday was 11,425 students, compared with last year's 8,491.

The newspaper reported someone stated that the statewide enrollment at IVY a community college was unprecedented. Really?!

It is only a matter of time before these older and wiser students leave the campus compound and enter the barren Hoosier workforce?

Then what?

Oh dope, drugs and guns. Somebody has to keep the City Police and Allen County Sheriff Department folks employed with subsidized government funding.

The next time I go home, I am going to see that great baseball diamond and all the new residential housings downtown. I am going to walk through the neigborhood of the400 new houses. I am even going to take a look at the brand new Y.

That is if they exist on my next visit, I know that baseball diamond does, but I was not able to see it as I drove through the main entrance into town.
