Senator Evan Bayh throws in the towel

It is no surprise that Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will not run for this third term in the United State Senate. Senator Bayh is a no match against the Republican Dan Coats. That also means that Indiana voters will not have to fall prey to the fundraising ploy of the Democrats that their native son Bayh is a possible contender for President of the United States.

Now what will Indiana Democrats do to retain the upward mobility that President Barack Obama infused into the party? Right now, they are trying to follow the money trail that Bayh will leave behind:

Bayh’s campaign account has nearly $13 million, a formidable amount. But Coats is favored to win the GOP primary and was expected to give Bayh stiff competition, although a recent statewide poll showed Bayh with a 20-point lead over Coats.

It will have too seek the young and talented based on talent rather than the good ole boy network.

As for Bayh could lobbying be his new calling?
