The Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals that the private sector has created 162,000 jobs. President Barack Obama calls it turning the corner maintaining a 9.7 % national unemployment rate.
But my stomach hurts. African-Americans employment when compared to other groups is far from turning the corner. African-Americans overall unemployment rate is 16.9%. For African-American adult males the number of unemployed climb toward almost 20% while the number for African-American adult females is slightly above 12%.
While raced white females unemployment as a group steps up to the corner at 7.3%, and raced white males at 8.8%, both groups escapes the unemployment national high of 9.7%. So what about our children?
With 741,,000 African-American children in America between the age of 16-19, almost half are unemployment. 41% of these African-American children fall short compared to over 4 millions raced white children coming in at less than 24% unemployment. So my stomach hurt. Because it ain't us who are working in America and it is our children who are standing on the corner while others are turning the corner.
What kind of crap is that!
