Some want to know if one month of Black History is enough? One month is all that is needed to fuel the hunger for knowledge and encourage the journey to reeducate the miseducated.
February begins the celebration of Black History Week.
Dr. Carter G. Woodson born in 1875 and died in 1950 began Negro History Week in 1926, chosen in the second week of February between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln, which evolved into Black History Month in 1976. Dr. Woodson authored the book, The Miseducation of the Negro. Dr. Woodson was known as the Father of Black History and the love of his people.

Having spent time amongst "the camp of the enemy"; i know a thing or 2, especailly when these GOP'ers start talking about gangs, guns, and drugs.
I am a responsible citizen- have tried to stay out of trouble, earn a living, and simply live my life. I own firearms( guns) , I smoke marijuana on ocassion- just like someone in aboite, or cherry hill, or pine valley drinks expensive scotch- to each their own.
gangs? how about gangs of cops, lawyers, judges, prosecutors, politicians runnung rampant, doint whatever they want, with impunity, buyint their way our of trouble- the best justice money can buy?
what do you think of when you hear "gangs, guns, and drugs? a BET music video? south central LA? gold toothed, black thugs with bling menacing "good decent white god fearing folk? ( like Ms. Hughes, and her ilk?"
I just wanted to point out how clueless this bimbo is. sarah palin comes to mind too..

Fort Wayne Republicans are an interesting gtoup. They represent a city that has such a diverse population. I believe the two party system is corrupt in our town. Paula Hughes has no power she only wants to represent the race white folks who has the money to get her elected.

You don't fight racialist with racialist behavior, you hit them with the facts.. So somebody needs to get the facts on Paula Hughes.

heres another thought-
ex-mayor Helmke and his "brady bunch" are constantly harping on keeping guns away from "crazies" and "dangerous people". so think about what he means by that. Returning veterans with PTSD- war makes people crazy- its the ultimate in insanity. the BTK serial killer was a pillar in his community. how many of us have family, friends, neighbors who are dope up on happy pills prescribed by doctor feelgoods for every malady imaginable, supplied by eli lilly of Indiana, and the "pharmaceutical-medical-insurance-industrial complex"- every bit as dangerous as Eisenhower spoke of about the other one.
if you, or your readers are ever bored, bo find the psychiatrist/psychology head shrinkers manual of mental problems. I bet every one of us fit into at least 2 or more of these disorders on any given day- and can be twisted to fit any circumstance at any given time. I'm a "hoarder"- I stockpile junk just like ordianry people did during the depression. I could be Obsessive compulsive disorder- people need to have this quality to succeed in self employment- perfectionist workaholics-detail oriented exacting perfetionists-simply doing it right, every time. and "ODD- oppositional defiance disorder- because i can see through the BS that all our institutions have concocted to keep us all docile like unthinking sheep. thats just a start.
Then we have your "dangerous people"- what is that exactly? black people with guns? brown people with guns? asians with guns? poor white people with guns? anybody who doesnt fit any given persons prejudicial, preconceived notions, and sterotypes of whos dangerous, and whos not? or is it like the old supreme court justices proclamation "I know them when i see them". except for the people who SNAP; or go postal, or they find bodies in the backyard, basement, etc. "he was a quiet neighbor- he kept to himself. He never bothered anybody". watch the last 20 minutes of the alfred Hitchcock movie "Psycho"- why my norman- he'd never hurt a fly....
So I purport that Ex- Mayor Helmke and his brady bunch have a racist agenda- to disarm anybody who isnt rich, white lawyer, ivy league educated, elitist; and keep guns only in the hands of the authorities- anybody with a badge, and a uniform. And the NRA is a terrorist organization, because they clearly state we should have guns to protect ourselves from government tyranny. which means "shoot cops in the face when they try to take away your guns, ot commit any other acts of what you define as tyranny?.
so I know the whole back story, and psychological profile of ex-mayor Helmke, and what his frame of mind is, when it comes to his anti-gun crusade- and it all boils down to taking guns away from non-white persons of color- surely raced to me?

ReplyDeleteFolks have lost their lives in this battle, so to still be here to point it (racism) out is a good thing.
As far as Helmke goes, he is the go to man, an expert as to why guns should be banned. What makes him an expert? The fact that he is the head of that agency!!
I am sure that there are some folks who want guns out of the hands of African-Americans. And some of the folks probably fund Helmke's program.
But, what folks like me want, is to stop the easy accessibity of guns to young people. And to those folks who are indifferent to the harm certain type of weapons can do to communities.
I I am certain that we are not going to agree on every thing, but this I know, we can agree to disagree.
Every day I wake up in this skin and no one can tell me that it makes no difference. Peace
