Honoring an elder’s voice

Wisdom and experiences taught me

Firmness and conviction from

A heart filled with laughter / love of family

Engage life with chuckling eyes

Express worthiness in moments of defeat

Inspire through resiliency

Remembering while

embracing heartfelt sadness

As we mourn his passing.
