banned greenwood renters come to fort wayne

Renter's probably should stay in apartments. Even worse, renters could be banned from living in a middle-class Indianapolis suburb development, if Greenwood Mayor Charles Henderson has his way.

Of course Fort Wayne renters need not fret. If renters are lucky in the city and live in certain neighborhoods, they can take on some of the obligations of a homeowner. Renters can apply for tax exemptions, mortgage exemptions, or age exemptions, and pay for homeowner's insurance. The deal for landlords and their gratitude? Renter may get the option of buying the home.

After the property tax assessment landlords were hit hard. And without the exemption and the property cap, tax payments has put a hurt on many of these landlords wanting to maintain their lifestyle. The uninformed and ill-informed end up paying the piper for property that will never become their home.
