Senator Evan Bayh buys Senator Hillary Clinton time to concede
How long? That's what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would say to Senator Hillary Clinton. How long will Senator Barack Obama have to wait before he is allowed to claim his victory. Sure, Senator Evan Bayh allowed Hillary to save face with a fake win for Hillary in a county that is demographically more favorable to Obama.
If Obama won Senator Bayh's capitol, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, more than likely Obama won Michael Jackson's hometown Gary. but that's not the headline we read in the newspaper. Of course, the Indianapolis Star endorsed Hillary. the newspaper did not want to print Obama won in its' native son country. No, the newspaper would have rather wrote about Hillary overcoming Obama in raced white man country.
Matter of fact, Hoosier heck, Hillary stated herself that she has a broader base of raced white folks to draw from when it comes to being electable. In an interview, citing an analysis from an article suggesting Clinton broader appeal:
"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."
Broader could have meant the female base, but the article states, "white Americans". Which Hillary suggested in Indianapolis, that she could win if Americans would start being Americans. defining her base. But after her razor thin win in Indiana she had to be a little more direct, in speaking to raced white unemployed males.
So Senator Evan Bayh did what Indiana is politically famous for, diluting the African-American votes. But soon, not long, the question of how much longer for Clinton will be answered by West Virginians. And Hillary will have to concede to the fact that all raced White Americans are not voting for Clinton.
So while Obama goes to Washington, D.C. for superdelegates, Hillary is still appealing to McCain supporters.
Wasted fuel.
