Dan Stockman exposes the Jesse Jacksons in African-American Leadership.

This past week, I begin to wonder, where in the hell is Dan Stockman of Journal-Gazette? I have livid from reading a few stories in that has appeared in the local newspaper that just got on my last nerves. So, I get up this morning, and there he is( Dan Stockman). Now, the headline can be misleading, if you think that the story is just about housing. Plus the fact, that Stockman is an investigative report. True, the information about the Section 8 program is interesting enough, but take a look a the picture, the map, and the local folks Stockman get quotes from.

If you missed it, Stockman uses quotes from Heather Presley:

Pockets of poverty

The map paints a disturbing picture for Heather Presley, deputy director of economic development for housing for the city of Fort Wayne.

“We are the most affordable housing market in the nation for a city of our size,” Presley said. “Someone who earns 50 to 60 percent of the median income can pretty much live anywhere in the city. If voucher holders are concentrated on the southeast side, that means they’re constricted in their ability to choose where to live.”

and Maynard Scales:

And despite the southeast side’s many problems, renting there offers something no apartment complex in a more suburban neighborhood can offer, said Maynard Scales, executive director of the Fort Wayne Housing Authority, which runs the Section 8 voucher program in Fort Wayne.

“We’ve discovered that if given a choice between an apartment and a single-family rental house, they tend to want to live in the single-family unit, and there’s more of those available southeast and southwest,” Scales said. “That’s the preference for many families.”

Single-family homes for rent in other areas tend to be out of the price range available to voucher holders, he said, limiting their choices.

These are two African-Americans who are directly linked to helping the living condition of African-Americans but....

I guess, I should finish, these two African-Americans participate in providing misinformation to very population who needs it the most. Sad. No different than Jesse Jackson calling Obama the N..Word. These folks are just happy to be celebrated in the raced white community for pulling the wool over the eyes of the those who African-Americans seeking their services.

Don Stockman tells the story, read it here

But the truth of the matter is that the housing program practiced redlining, steering African-Americans into certain neighborhoods. The truth of the matter, is that the Fort Wayne Housing Authority plays a part in concentrating African-Americans in certain parts of the city and Dan Stockman gives you the map to see for yourself.

Do Scales and Presley truly believe that AFrican-American would pay rent to a slum landlord when they could leave in a better apartment for the same amount or rent? Let me answer that question? Hell no. The only reason they would choose the former is because the Housing Authority provides them with no choice.
