Pushing Through-fighting the demons to become a tree

Well, it's taken me two years to read Speak. This is a book given to me by my oldest granddaughter. Earlier, my oldest grandson, gave me a book, A Gathering of Old Men by Ernest Gaines. It took me probably just as long to get around to reading it.

I enjoyed the book my grandson gave me, after I got into it. I was thinking at the time, My God, was my grandson just being nice or giving me a book to read that he didn't like himself. My daughter used to do this to me, give me books she had to read. She knew I would read in no time flat and then would tell her about it.

So this is how I felt about Speak.

The cover was a pale lime green with an eyeball. And with a title like Speak, it could only be about one thing, rape. What is interesesting about reading about rape>!

But, this book is still with me. It is the only book, I brought with me from my home almost a year ago. I fan the pages. I see nothing to inspire me to read, no pictures, small print. To get through this book, I decided to read one chapter a day.

It works. I finished <em>Speak today. It's a story about something more than just rape.

Sometimes things take time. Somethings you see one way can change with time..take care my Obamas.
