the inaugural ticket for President-elect Barack Hussein Obama

Yesterday, I got a chance to eyeball one of the inaugural tickets. Lovely, the lady stated that she faithfully contributed to Obama's campaign. Not a lot, but she gave as much as she could. I still don't have one.

My youngest daughter told me she attended William Jefferson Clinton's swearing in ceremony. It was cold she said. She was in formation, thinking could she have some warm socks or should she just faint. Sigh.

I've written letters to several individuals and several groups requesting tickets. But, the mailbox is empty. So, I decided to volunteer. I filled out the application. So did over a 100, 000 other folks. Only 15,000 volunteers were selected. Training for the first 4000 was well attended.

I have an opportunity to attend the inaugural. I have my little cap and my unofficial badge to be replaced with an official badge. But, I have the opportunity to attend the 56th Presidential swearing in ceremony.

Just how many millions of folks will attend this historical event? Many local locals say they will stay at home and watch the ceremony at home. One lady stated she would watch it in her pajamas while sipping hot chocolate. Maybe.

But in the training room, the majority of the volunteers were selected from the Washington and Maryland area, so some will brave the cold weather. I've stood in temperature below zero, so I believe this one will be a breeze.

Wow, my Obamas, I am on the National Mall. I volunteered to passed out some of the tickets. Of course, I am hoping that someone does not show up and they give that bad boy to me, maybe.....

  2. Update:

I got an email that they have enough volunteers for passing out the tickets and the media passes.

I do not have a group representative so I was not selected to pass out the tickets.

This is a bummer. I am hoping this does not happen with the other volunteer opportunity.

I don't know if the fact that my phone number is the issue since is still Indiana.

There is no way to contact the representative. I just have to sit on my email.
