Black History Month-NFL Superbowl XLIII 2009

When classes start on Monday, more than likely for the first time, students will "OD" on black history. Unfortunately, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be overshadowed with President Barack Obama as the most talked about African-American figure.

But today, it's Edgerrin James is who I am writing about. James, a running back, played for the Indianapolis Colts for seven years. It was disappointing for me to see the Colts go on to win a Superbowl win without James. Just as much as Dungy did to build the Colts' fan base so did James. After James left the Colts, I believed that James would never get the chance to see a Superbowl.

How surprised I was to learn from a former NFL player that Edgerrin James would be playing in the 2009 Superbowl!!!! So in honor of the start of Black History month, I will be pulling for the underdog, the Arizona Cardinal. Moreso, for a Superbowl win for Edgerrin James who did not get his props from many of the Indy fans.

I wonder which team Dungy is pulling for? Go Cardinals....
