April Marie Tinsley on the America's Most Wanted Show

On April 11, America's Most Wanted will profile a missing child who was killed in 1988. April Tinsley a first grader who attended Fairfield Elementary came up missing in 1988. Tinsley body was discovered later, she had been suffocated and sexually molested.

The first thing that came to mind on hearing that Tinsley was missing, was my youngest daughter . My daughter, briefly, attended Fairfield Elementary. My mind went back to the little man who said he had children at the schools. He noticed that my daughter was new at the school as we got out of the car. He stated he was a brownie leader.

I was taken aback, and my antenna went up to take my dauther out of the school. But, I didn't. I thought at the time, I would just have to watch out for the little man.

Finally , after complaining several times about graffiti being on the girls' bathroom wall. I pulled my daughter out of the school. I was so disappointed in the lack of care for a school within the African-American community. I did not think the school grounds was a safe environment for children.

I decided on a school with one of the lowest percentage of African-Americans, as more educational friendly. I would have selected the lowest percentage school, but I felt I was being unfair to my daughter. No more graffiti.

April Tinsley was found murdered, it was after school. Often, I wonder was it that little man. The person who killed Tinsley is still out there. Is he still sexually molesting little girls? I hope they find him soon.
