Hey Police Officer What's your name?

Asking a police officer what's his name when he is investigating you may not work to your advantage. I had at least two such incidence. The first time, I was driving a car with a stick. Iam not a fan of the stickshift and sworn I would never drive another after one years ago. However, on this day, I was driving a stickshift because a friend of my had given me the car as a gift.

Well, I spot a police car behind me as I prepare to turn on a main street. It was my plan to change lanes, but the light turns red, so I have to stop. Well when its time for me to go I freese and the car cuts off.

When I do go, the police turns on his lights, I stop and wait. Because, you know, he is running the plates of the car that my friend gave me, who is not of the same shade that I am. I wait as the officer approaches the car and request my license. You know why I stopped you, the police says. No, I say. You ran that stop sign back there. I say nothing as he goes back to check my license.

I didn't run a stop sign but no need to argue with the policeman, I know he wants to search the car and is hoping I have some type of violation. When he gives me my license back, he says you can go now.

Nothing else so instead I hang my head out the car and say sir, could I have your name and badge number. In return I get a ticket.

That's the price of stsnding your ground.

The next incident is in the next post,
