Obvious McNair didn't care whether or not his wife knew about his cheating. His mistress worked at a resturant that the family visited. McNair helped the mistress purchase a big car with his name included on the title. McNair was even in the passenger side of this big vehicle while the mistress was arrested with a DUI.

Why wasn't McNair not driving, if his mistree had been drinking? McNair did the nice thing and bailed out his mistress. Such a nice guy on cheats on women.
McNair probably thought like many men, it's cheaper to keep a wife while spending time with a pretty little young thing. Sometimes the price can be far more costly than payment on car, house note, and cozy vacation. McNair was so comfortable with women who knew he cheated, that he took his mistress to his condom. What McNair didn't know was sometimes the promise of something more to some women can get a brother killed.
What McNair should have known was that the pretty little young thing had purchased a gun. As he slept, his mistress decided to unload a gun into his body. This time she would not go to jail nor would McNair nicely walk away. A dead brother can no longer cheat as she put the gun to her head and pulled the trigger, could have been a thought.
McNair probably should have invested in a metal detector. Or McNair could have been on a suicide mission all for the sake of his wife and kids.
Either way, bottom line McNair didn;t care or didn't know how to care,
