Death is certain. When it happens to a member of your family, the pain can appear to be unbearable. But, when that family member life is taken by someone else the pain and anger can become unreasonable. Moreso, when the police tell you that they know who the killer is but are powerless in arresting the perpetrator.
This is the pain of Jesse Allen and Pamela Graham. The parent lost their son on a cold December. On Dec. 27, 2008, 17-year-old Jacquan D. Allen was shot during a car chase. Moreover the parents were not the one called to identity their own son's body.
Identity one's own son is a given for finality after such a tragedy. But, common sense appears to be missing in the handling of this case. More like in difference to the agony of the family of Allen's wanting justice from the criminal justice system.
Citizens should not be in the business of apprehending criminals.
