Repbublican Commissioners Denied Funds for the Poor

First Wayne Township Trustee Rick Stevenson save families from living in squalor and gets kicked in the teeth. Next Wayne Township Stevenson goes before the Allen County Commissioners to request funds for the needy and is denied.

According to an Indiana's News Center website:
Mar 09, 2007 - (Fort Wayne, IN)--The Wayne Township Trustee went before the Allen County Commissioners this morning requesting more than one million dollars in poor relief.

But the Commissioners denied the request. Now Township Trustee Rick Stevenson must go before the Allen County Council for the cash. Stevenson says at the rate he's doling out poor relief; the fund will be empty by the end of the month. If the County Council turns him down, he will have to go to the bank for a loan.

The fund is expected to be replenished in June when property taxes are distributed. (Edited by Paula Hinton)

Trustee Stevenson was somewhat vindicated when other residents were moved after a fire. Let's hope that the Allen Council vindicates Stevenson in understanding the needs to support it community and voters by giving him the money to do his job.

Centlivre Apartment-inspection gone blind

Indiana News Center exclusive written & edited by Nicole Pence's report states that not only were there rodents taking over the complex after the city inspection crew declared it was minor. The reporter goes back in for a closer look and find that the inspectors overlooked mold. How did this happen?

How did this happen, Mayor Graham, city inspectors how did this happen?
It's important to remind you that Neighborhood Code Enforcement inspected three buildings last week. Thirty-two violations were filed, but none were serious enough to condemn the buildings, and there isn't a violation listed on any on these documents that deals with mold or mildew. However, officers only toured common areas and certain apartment units, and not the rooms you just saw.

It appears that Wayne township Trustee Rick Stevenson uncovered a much bigger problem impacting old school way of not dealing with a problem.

Wayne Township Trustee-Richard Stevenson

Rick Stevenson

Well it appears that the City of Fort Wayne can rally around helping some more families living in filth. That is if they are really concerned about such issues, after earlier learning about some children living in similiar conditions.

According to a report on Fort Wayne.Com, the newly elected Wayne township trustee was quite taken aback about the deplorable living condition for three families and staff. Richard Stevenson, found the families living in squalor-like conditions at an apartment complex in which the township was paying rent. In the words of a friend, "ain't that sad." But my response is, that's probable just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.
