Serena Williams 2012

It's old news, but the record breaking ace queen of Wimbledon with 102 aces, battled herself to the 2012 Wimbledon victory, Serena Willimas. But the true champion did not stop there she went on to support her sister in the doubles victor.
To add icing to the cake, Serena and her older sister Venus, 32, also won the doubles title later that day.
It was another incredible chapter in the story of two sisters who learned to play tennis in public parks in Compton, a predominately black, low-income city, then went on to dominate women's tennis for more than a decade. They are the first African-American women to win Wimbledon since the late Althea Gibson in 1958. Between them, the siblings have won 10 of the last 13 Wimbledon singles titles.
Ten of the last 13 Wimbledon singles titles, and only a few will write about her but her record is history..facts found on the internet dictionary.

Can't nobody do it like the Williams sisters...Venus and Serena

Listen forget about the Nike swoosh. The Williams sisters represent something beyond the Nike swoosh. Vthese are two bad sistas that represents committment, hard work and dedication. They don "t kist show as decoration likevthe swoosh, they are exacting powerhouses. Venus comes out and loses her Single match and everybody dust their hands and declares. It's time for Venus to hang up those tennis ratchets. Until, we see her team up with her youngest sister, Serena. The dynamic duo, together, qualify for the doubles, and wons the first match. We have been served our notice to wait, it's not over for Venus until she leaves the court. We wait because the other half is simultaneously playing another contest..the title for the Single alone..Serena. We grunt and groans each time a set gets too close to possibly going toward anyone favor beyond Serena. The closer Serena gets to the final, we are tirelessly rooting for her victory, and wonder at the same time, how it possible for her to compete for two different titles on the same day. What madness. There is no way a Serena can recover from a grueling single match to compete in a doubles. Until we remember, the other half of the dynamic duel..Venus. Venus, the older sister who Serena has often had to ocompete again into the single. This Venus would be by Serena'd side to provide her with the strength and the spirit needed. But they know each others strength and weaknesses. We wait on what they know and already see. We wait to see them win what they have spent a lifetime of achieving..winning tennis matches..Wimbledon 2012 will never be forgotten..The Williams sisters are their own brand ..Amazing.

Who Lost Egypt?

Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy asks the question who lost Egypt? The question is directed to the United States President in power during the election of Mohammed Mursi as Eygpt's president. Other Presidents have been blamed for a reversal of countries leaderships argues Gaffney, such as "..Harry Truman was charged with having “lost China” following the take-over of the Chinese mainland by Mao Tse-Tung’s communists. In subsequent years similar formulations were used to challenge those responsible for the loss to the Free World of Vietnam, Iran and post-Soviet Russia." Bret Stephens of the Wall Street Journal blames the Egyptians for the loss but still points a finger as President Obama as a catalyst. Stephens argues that President Obama helped Egyptians protestors usher in the Arab Springs making way for a possible Islamic Winter for the people. Mursi is painted as an extremist who is walking the walk but not talking the talk of a more moderate Muslim leader. Dick Morris of NewsMax argues that President Obama must do something and tighten the relationship with the military might so as not to fall the way of Jimmy Carter. Morris, writes, "[t]he Obama administration, in failing to throw its weight against an Islamic takeover, is guilty of the same mistake that led former President Jimmy Carter to fail to support the shah, opening the door for the Ayatollah Khomeini to take over Iran. Who lost Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood of Iran can't possible be determined since Mursi was only elected to office June 30, 2012. But what will happen between the new leadership and the United States security forces will be worth watching.

Black Women's Roundtable Applauds the Supreme Court Ruling On the Affordable Health Care Act

For Immediate Release

Washington, DC - Melanie L. Campbell, president and CEO, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and convener, Black Women's Roundtable issued the following statement on Supreme Court Ruling On Health Care Reform:

"For decades the lack of access to health care has been a critical issue for low-income, middle-income and self-employed American's. The historic ruling issued by the U.S. Supreme Court upholding the Affordable Care Act will have a major impact on families across the country. A healthy America is a better America.

"The Supreme Court's decision will make health care accessible to millions of previously uninsured or underinsured Americans, including African Americans and young adults. It will also prevent insurance companies from unfairly charging women more than men, currently a common practice in the insurance industry.

"In addition to lowering the cost of health insurance overall, starting in 2014 the Affordable Care Act provides for tax credits for people who cannot afford health insurance, it stops insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions or canceling a policy when someone gets sick. Also, the creation of new community health centers as well as the requirement for insurance companies to offer a variety of preventive services at no cost to consumers will save lives and money.

"On behalf of The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation's Black Women's Roundtable, we commend the Supreme Court justices for evaluating the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act through a non-partisan lens and making a decision that positively impacts all Americans. This is a historic victory for the nation."

Serena is on her way..beats Kvitova

Serena Williams is having a hayday with Petra Kvitova. Williams has more speed on her ball than Kvitova. Kvitova loses the first set, 6-3. Kvitova makes an adjustment but Williams pulls it off with a 7-5 win. Williams will play Azarenka or Paszek in the semifinal.

China places footprint in Angola, Africa

Look close and you will see a new Africa...China has gentrified part of Angola. "Perched in an isolated spot some 30km (18 miles) outside Angola’s capital, Luanda, Nova Cidade de Kilamba is a brand-new mixed residential development of 750 eight-storey apartment buildings, a dozen schools and more than 100 retail units. Designed to house up to half a million people when complete, Kilamba has been built by the state-owned China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) in under three years at a reported cost of $3.5bn (£2.2bn)."

There are no black Italians

Mario Balotelli gave Italians something to talk about, fr that matter all of Europe. Balotelli booted in two soccer field goals against Germany for a win as a member of the Italy football team. Balotelli torn off his shirt, revealing more of his blackness. Yes, folks, Balotelli was a black Ghanian on Italy football team. The history of Europe racism in soccer is explained in this link. Check out the setting of the black's man barber shop in the style of adapting a haircut.
Note Italy would later lose to Spain 4-0.

Africa return to Africans..little Arab Springs

When I think of the United States and Africa, I think about Sierra Leone,Zimbabwe Rwanda, and Darfur, -genocide without intervention. Stand down and do nothing, let Africa and its billion of people die in poverty, appeared to be the message from America. Matter of fact, if Africa does nothing to save its own people why should we? So what has changed? The United States has created AFRICOM to focus on issues impacting Africa. This is a military combatant command that will be available to lead military operations in Africa, but has no military base in the heart of AFrica. AFRICOM may be a little too late to the party? Africans have come together collectively under Africa Standby Forces to solve it's own issues. Perhaps, the ASF, is too small to subdue the myriad of issues, especially genocide and poverty within their countries, but can Africa continue to do nothing as if waiting on the United States to move forward on the issue? But there is a global issue that is getting the United States to move forward and it is called Global War on Terrorism . The United States must establish a presence in an Africa that it had little to no interest in its development. An Africa that is growing pockets of Arab Springs almost daily. Group forming to resist government corruptions. The United States is too far away to maintain an eye on its interest..too far away to sustain peace in Africa..it was not a problem during the cold war but it is a problem during the GWOT that the United States is definitedly interested in.

Serena is her name..Tennis is her game

Four time Wimbledon tennis champion Serena Williams is moving on to the quarter finals, but Maria Sharapova will not. Williams not favored to win, did it again..a three set battle to a win. And Sharapova surrendered 6-4, 6-3 to Sabine Lisicki in the fourth round. But before battling Lisicki, Williams will have to face off with Petra Kvitova, who beat down former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 another three set match.

PGA Wins..get that Tiger #2 beats out Jack Nicklaus

Tiger Woods needed some time to heal, but sport writers and critics don't want to hear that. They want to know only one thing..is it over for the great Tiger Woods? The answer..not yet
In capturing the AT&T National, Woods moved ahead of Jack Nicklaus and into second place for the most victories on the PGA Tour. It was Woods’s 74th career win, second only to Sam Snead’s 82 on the career list.
Go Tiger..

Monday Morning Maniac Tennis

Monday morning tennis in Wimbledon with Serena Williams has to be more edgy than a combination of a cup of expresso and redbull. The buzz is that Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan is up to the challenge after the display of nerves of steel and the will t win over Italy Sara Errani. But this morning she will be battling with the ace queen. Williams, the champion at Wimbledon in 2002-03 and 2009-10. Serena wins. UPDate: Forgetting to close my IPAD..I lost my original completed post about Serena triumph three set win over her opponent Shvedova. So this post is a redo that can nt undo what was undone.
As I watched the scoring after the second set, between Serena and Yaroslava, I began to waive on the possibility that Serena would be in it to win it. By the third set, I found myself going come on Serena and when it tied at 4-4 I was begging Serena to do the darn thing. When I saw 7-5 I was not sure it was not over, but it was and the ace queen had pulled it off--with a win.

Heat waves, thunderstorms, and failed social networks

The heat can disrupt people lives, at times becomes a menaceto ones comfort level. And when you think it cannot get any worse, a thunderstorm shows up destroying properties and lives. Storms ravaged the nations, from the Midwest to the east coast to the dirty south. Now millions are without power during these tulmulous heatwave. Making it next to impossible to catch a good breeze from a floor fan or the icy blast of the Air conditioner. And for those who dodged both found themselves wrestling with the aftershock of the power outage, with appendages of our connectivity to the natural disaster. Parts of our social media outlets took nosedives, shutting off our power to search, post and disconnect on the Internet
When the storm knocked out power for an Amazon data center in Northern Virginia that hosts some popular Web sites, services like Netflix, Instagram and Pinterest went down. Most of the sites were back online Saturday afternoon.

Venus and Serena What doesn't kill you on the tennis courts

We look to the Williams sister, Venus and Serena to last in tennis for years just like senior Billy Jean King. But it may not happen with the 32 years old Venus, who has five Wimbledon titles and seven grand slams. Venus may be the first of the sister to leave the tennis courts for good. Venus suffers from the autoimmune disease Sjogren's syndrome, which can cause extreme fatigue and joint pain. The disease may have helped Elena Vesnina of Russia, 6-1, 6-3, to a quick victory defeating the eldest Williams sister. But the defeat did not keep Venus off the court for long, the next day she joined her sibling Serena to play a doubles match. Venus would join Serena to enjoy a victory in the doubles beating Vesna Dolonc of Serbia and Olga Savchuk of Ukraine 6-0, 6-3 in the first match. The same day, the three-Peet Olympic gold medalist Venus was swallowed up to participate in the London Olympics 2012 to play both singles and doubles in July.Meanwhile The other half of the dynamic duo remains in the third round of the singles, dueling opponents for a victory, winning against Chinese player Zheng Jei 6-7, 6-2, 9-7 Serena battled to defeat Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic 6-2 and 6-4 in the first round the singles. The second round defeat came to Hungarian Melinda Czink 6-1, 6-4. Serena is determined to sent Yaroslava Shvedova off the court with her aces. with a defeat in the fourth round of the single. Serena last won the singles in 2010, this win for 2012 will send a clear message that the young Williams sisters is In it to win it .

Mia Love.. the Female Obama?

Mia Love is a female counterpart of Barack Obama but instead of running for President she is running for Congress. The political office or gender are not the other differences between Obama and Love. There is the theme of redefining blackness in America and appeal to those who do fit the stereotypes of the descendants of American slaves. Love, born to Haitian parents has married a raced white Mormon male while Obama's mother was a raced white woman from Kansas married to an African. Obama ran as a Democrat for political office and Love ran for political office as a Republican. Love will provoke a conversation about "race" in Utah, but to overcome the historical bias based on not simply race..but skin color that the late Dr.Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr referred in his I have a Dream speech, "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." And for that Love will need a tons of money to overcome in Utah.
