Indiana Democrats 5 Republican 4

I don't care how much news coverage the republicans grab it is what it is. Read the thoughts of someone else on the Indiana races.

Come get your Political Signs?

Frank Gray has an article in the Journal-Gazette that these signs. According to the article there is no time limit on when these bad boys have to be removed. Some of the signs have already disappeared from my neighborhood but others are clustered together just waiting. I saw a lady today with about eight signs, when it dawned on me to ask her if she was headed to Jefferson Pointe. She stated she was going to try and get a few sandwiches from Chick-a-fil for herself and a neighbor. Chick-A-fil is offering sandwiches for signs. With some of the students being released, I mean let out of school early, parents should collects these times and treat the little ones to a great sandwich.

Microvote and the Infinity Machine

I could not mention the fact that I went to bed with Adams Township Assessor winner being Nina Gaines-Newson but from reading the next day reports Debbie Bearman-Thomas had taken the lead. Until to find sources confirming either of the results, I headed to Allen County Election Board . I was given four printouts. Four printouts because the results came from two different machines. So, to get the total I needed to add the two sets of numbers. This seems somewhat confusing and inconvenient to me for voters so seek certainty in their elections. The offical state certification of the votes do not happen until the week of the November 20th. Do we have any provisional ballots out there to be counted? Can we say Florida? I have so little faith in the voting process here in Allen County. Thank God for such a long weekend.

Nelson Peters is in as Allen County Republicans attempts to energize its base

The News-Sentinel reports that Nelson Peters will run for Mayor. Nelson will join Matthew Kelty in the primary race. Dr. Thomas Hayhurst does not appear interested in seeking the local office of Mayor. The Democrats will be hard pressed to find one well known personality to run against the two republicans.

Allen County and Government Efficiency

The voters have spoken on the lack of accountability of their elective leaders. The voters voted for a change in both the house and the senate after scandals that occurred under the old administration. Locally, for the status quo is worried and in order to maintain control a push for consolidation is in the works. Consolidation is hyped as cost-efficiency to cut back on waste and for streamlining government. Some cities opt for limited consolidation with simply consolidating departments to maximize its talents by cutting duplicity and increasing accountability.

But slackers in this restructuring of government will be not go away quietly. Fearing healthy competition, the status quo attempts other means in order to retain positions for their friends and family members. For example, Allen County recently issued a proposal to consolidate certain departments and this may have given folks in certain departments an ideal to protect their jobs. The Journal-Gazette provides a story about the housecleaning of staff members by Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health. According to the story, "GPS equipment [were] secretly placed in county cars by health department administrator Mindy Waldron, who led the investigation." In doing so, as many as six employees were terminated or resigned. The reasons were varied but one that stood out was that these employees were wasting taxpayers dollars.

This is interesting because, another story reported that the administrator supposedly purchased the GP devices, placed them randomly on County-owned vehicles, monitored the activities of county employees for over 500 hours over a nine-month period. Does this time period violate Allen County policy and procedure for an employee to notify law enforcement of criminal activity?

Another question, is an employee of the county allowed to work off the clock in conducting official county business? Another question why would an employee of the county spend her own money for an investigation on devices that were not authorized by the County? Another question if this was a random act in an investigation how was it that the devices captured nine employees of only two areas in the health department out of the 16 staff members? Another question why was there no coaching for corrective measures for those employees who had no previous disciplinary problems? Another question who is going to reimburse the taxpayers for the number of attorneys who sue the department for wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, and defamation of character?

To many questions, and how will those fired, retired, suspended workers be replaced read here in the New-Sentinel. Nine employees replaced with a part-timer and another employee with a different job title will step in to replace the director of another area. Makes you wonder, it only takes 1 1/2 persons to do the work of nine? Red Flags are all over this story. Ghost Employees, Felonies.....could there be more to the story?

Momma do you watch the news?

So stay the course, Bush partner in crime is stepping down, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. My daughter calls to let me know. It's about time. But, after watching the blowfish females on Gannett Television suck up to the Allen County Republicans, yesterday, I was fed up with local news coverage.

Yeah, Yeah I know Melissa Long is married to David Long, Indiana Republican House of Representative. But Mr and Mrs. Long don't own the television station, Mrs. Long is only an employee. I would have loved to seen some of the Democrats who were winners have as much time or half as much time as the Republican winners.

So, I missed Rumsfeld stepping down, I would have loved to seen their face. After suffering a major defeat to their beloved KKK party, one of their fearless leader has exited stage right. So much for conservative values, folks are tired of lying republican you lost because the folks is tired of supporting the republican criminal rearends.

So daughter no I did not see Rumsfeld resign, but I'll be counting the days until the troops come home. In the meantime, listen to Julia Carson acceptance speech.

The African-American Vote Counts

Hello out there!! I know at lot of folks have not whispered this into either Souder or Hayhurst eye, but they need to get to some African-American churches come Sunday Morning. In the 3rd Congressional district there are over 32 % of female headed household. And many of these female headed house hold will be sitting on the church pew listening to the preacher preach a better day is coming.

You are not going to find your big donors there. But you don't need those donors now you need votes and one thing African-American women do is vote. So you didn't hear it from me, but those folks taking them polls probably didn't know this either.

Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health

The most surprising point of the story coming from the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health is not that folks are being fired, but that more folks are not being fired for violations. I worked in this department as an independent contractor. Those who were left in charge were afraid of outsiders. As an independent contractor, they tried to order my steps and as most folks who will tell you ordering my steps does not come from incompetent folks. They wanted to oversee my creativity juices. They just did not understand I'm a free agent.

I was told that African-American women did not make it through the interview process because they dressed liked they were going to church with their flowery prints. Flowery dresses are better than jeans any day. They needed someone more professional looking. From me working with this group for a brief time looking at one wearing an Easter dress for a maternity dress or one just got out of bed look wardrobe, I think they should have been happy to see some sista dressed with pride. But, no, these women were competitive, and they did not won't educated sista up in their mix. I think the undercurrent of finding fault with the churchgoing women , was more than like these women would not work under the unethical work habits of these folks and would blow the whistle. Of course I was not a print wearing sista, but I still had ethic which explains why we parted company quickly and they paid.

Yes, you need to clean house Paul Moss and you just scratched the surface. And try to hire qualified folks instead of folks who like each other, you know the saying birds of the saying, corrupt together.

The real winners of the midterm elections

The real winner from doug's website is who ever gets the money spent in these campaigns.

TEd Haggard..Do it in the name of Jesus and you can justify in the end

Ted Haggard is giving new meaning to the hip-hop words..back that--- up.. Reports are stating that Haggard allegedly had a relationship with a male, Michael Jones. This would mean that not only does Haggard believe in male-female, (because he is married) but also in an occasional locker room boys only relationship. Haggard is reported to have stepped down as president of National Association of Evangelicals. Haggard is denying Jone accusation.

I know one thing for sure, it appears that a lot of fellows are in engaged in the down low.

Predictions still in the works.

My predictions are my educated guesses..I did not break down by groups or demographics. What I did was look at the elections for a number of years, looked at the turnout and decided how close and made a guess. Simple. My concerns for this midterm election are with voter apathy and the many voters who will not want to be hassled when they come to vote with having to show a picture ID. If I sign a statement, swearing that I am who I say I am, that should be good enough. I do expect a low turnout, and the small townships, I expect even lower turnouts so I did not take the time to guess, if I have time I may give some numbers.

It's your money-Property Tax overpayment-go get it

I talked about how crooked the process within the assessessment of property tax, that I can't see straight. To top it off, I go to Indianapundit and there is a mailer of Pat Love. But living here in the corrupt city, and believing a lie cannot live forever, here's some good news...the auditor office may owe you some money.

That's right, the auditor's office has decided to give back some of the money stolen from the taxpayers, or more political correct overpayment. I do not know how they decided who was to get what back, but I can bet my bottom dollar they kept more than what was given back.

Besides, it's an election year !!!!

And the winner is?

Predictions update**

Souder won with 59% of the vote in 2002 against an unknown; this year his opponent is known and only needs to get 12% of last year election voters. I would suggest Hayhurst rally all his opponents and ask them to have those who voted for them to give their vote to Hayhurst to pull this one off.

Hayhurst 34,000
Souder 30,000

District 15

Wyss is a legislator and not a meet and greet only type of guy and thus will win this one hands down.

Wyss 15000
Bynum 5000

Howell third time out should pay off in the republican influenced county, that is if his party truly supports him, if not GiaQuinta will win by default (name and did nohing to win this seat). Note interesting that two GiaQuinta are on the ballot, could the other well known GiaQuinta suggest to voters to vote for his brother?

Howell 7000
GiaQuinta 4000

Council District 1

City Council has called this one, the good ole boy needs this seat for consolidation.

James Ball (R) 7000
Maye L. Johnson (D) 3000

Council District 4
Calvert Miller (R)* 12,000
Richard Cline (D) 5000

Summers is such a nice guy but won't win. Summers does not get the same type of exposure as McGauley who has switch position so much, you wonder is he just a floater,(did he not challenge Sandra Kennedy for a position) or does he just like seeing his name on the ballot.

John McGauley (R) 28,000
Herbert Summers (D) 20,000

Assessor

Love won on a fluke had she fought for the taypayers, plain and simply neither, so Lopshire will win.

Stacey Lopshire ( R) 28,000
Patricia Love (D)* 15,000

If Taviano can get Foster and Griffith supporters to back her, she can take this but for now Fries appointment will stand.

Adams Township Assessor
Gaines-Newson is young and gutsy this race should be close, but I'm giving to Thomas.

Matthew P. Schomburg (R)* 6000
Richard Stevenson (D) 7000

This race has a lot of known candidates, I think it would be nice for Armstrong to sit it out, but because of name recognization I select him to be winner taking out Parra. I like Parra, and she has a lot of clout with the Latino population. Someone need to find a place for her on a solid ticket.
