Newspapers on Obama's Win

(AP Photo/Sayyid Azim)
The front pages of local Kenyan newspapers and their coverage of U.S. Sen. Barrack Obama and the U.S. elections are seen in Nairobi, Kenya, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008. From the capital of Nairobi to the bustling city of Kisumu near Barack Obama's ancestral home, Kenyans are excited about the man they see as a "son of the soil", and ready to celebrate if he wins the U.S. presidential election.

This is too funny-Voters vote out township Assessors

I think this would just dessert for the township assessors who overassessed taxpayers' home with a blind eye. Now these folks will feel the pain of the homeowner, because these folks will be losing their jobs.

The bailout will come from the County Assessor attempting to find them jobs...sound like some whistle blowing may be in the works.

Fort Wayne African-American did not vote a straight Democratic Ticket

Excuse me, but where is Dan Stockman, the journalist. Who in there right mind believe that AFrican-Americans would split their ticket to vote for Republicans who have kept them off the juror's pool? Who in their right mind would believe that the 150,000 votes that included African-American votes would have voted for a Judge that got 101,000 vote after being caught driving drunK?

Who?

that's right, folks in the City of Fort Wayne wants us to believe that African-American folks who elected a Democratic Mayor, split their ticket to vote for Nelson Peters!!! Do you really believe those Republicans who voted for Obama voted for those other Republicans? Come on people!!!

If somebody is not investigating they ought to be.

Is Allen County Voter's Roll Bloated?

I would say that it is. The newspaper suggest that there was a 60% turnout to vote in Allen Couty with the number of voters in the range of 150,000. So that would mean 60,000 did not vote. That would put the eligible voters are 310,000, when an early report put the number of eligible voters at over 253,000.

So why are not party leaders not questioning the election board about its voters' roll?

The first family-Barack Obama

How do you feel? I am numb. I am trying to figure out just want does it means to witness the fact that an African-American will sit in the seat of power come January 2i, 2009. Barbara Jordan's words about the Constitution is not enough for this moment, it is beyond being included. To me, witnessing this day has silenced the words of Judge Roger Taney and his peers the framers of the Constitution, that folks like Obama "had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the negro might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for his benefit. He was bought and sold and treated as an ordinary article of merchandise and traffic, whenever profit could be made by it."

No longer an ordinary article of merchandise..today.

Has it changed my life? No but it sure it going to make me hold my head a little more higher.

BARACK OBAMA!! President of The United States of America

President Barack Obama
First Lady Michelle Obama

Score 2008 for President Barack Obama

McCain 8-Obama-3

McCain is up by 5, Obama is waiting for former Virginia Governor Mark Warner to assist him. Warner won a Senate seat in Virginia. Dribbling at 10% is Indiana, not in range to pass the ball to either McCain or Obama. It's a pass to McCain with 27% of the votes:

Indiana - 1405 of 5230 Precincts Reporting - 27%
Name Party Votes Vote %
McCain , John GOP 376,971 51%
Obama , Barack Dem 354,498 48%
Barr , Bob Lib 8,416 1%

Obama is still in for Indiana. , McCain takes S.C. and is up by 13, McCain 13 and Obama 3. Wait a minute, it looks like Obama is in the lead at 8:08 p.m. 76 to McCain 34. What happen? Obama grabs Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont while McCain shuttles with assist from Oklahoma, Tennessee. Ohio is making its way to Obama with fans screaming at 68% but not close enough to pass McCain. McCain is attempting to steal a win as he inches closer, but Obama is holding McCain with another assist, Obama 82 and McCain 34 with New Hampshire and Pennsylvania at 8:41 P.M.

But the crowd is restless as McCain catches a second wind from the crowd...what's the game plan? McCain crowd has overcome Obama, its close will McCain be able to maintain the lead as he moves closer to Obama? Obama scores with 102 to McCain 34 and at 9:15 p.m. moves back in the lead with 175 to McCain 37.

Half-way home..Obama is inching toward the 270 tally with New York, Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Wisconsin as McCain takes a timeout with Alabama. After the break McCain jumps to 52 with Georgia and Arkansas with Obama at 175 eyeing Ohio. McCain pushed through to 61 to Obama's 175.

Obama's now has the crowd on his side...Dole goes down in North Carolina. What will that mean for Obama? Obama add 20 more, its now 195 to McCain 61. Obama adds New Mexico and McCain adds Kansas and Louisiana gives McCain 70 to Obama 195 as they move pass the half-way mark according to CNN.

At 10:04 P.m. it appears that Obama is in the home stretch with 202 to McCain 75. Chicato is calling it a wrap!!! It's party time, in my lifetime. America will never be the same.

It may not be summer time but I betacha they are :

Goodnight

MMM is declared the winner in Indiana

Governor Mitch Daniels wins a second term. Inspite of the the Get out the Vote campaign for Jill Thompson, it appears Indiana will have four more years of George Bush friend Mitch Daniels.

Barack Obama the newly elected President

In my life time, I never dreamed it. But today, I am biting my nails and pulling for Obama. I wrote this 2 years ago,October 24, 2006 and now I repost it, because a lot has happen since then. I was hoping and dreaming way back than:

Obama in 2008
United States Senator Barack Obama may throw his persona into the Democratic Party cast of characters who are running for President. The lanky, lean, good-looking Obama may join the other team of lookers, Evan Bayh, and John Kerry, and the tough as nails, lone female hopeful Hillary Clinton.

Obama brings a new flavor to the Democrats. He refreshes the old tired, we shall overcome chant, of Jesse Jackson with the late Barbara Jordan's style of dialogue amongst the people delivered with the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. move to action charm. Obama is irresistible. Obama serves as a beacon of hope to those who have left the party and for those who have sought a party that speaks to their needs. Obama will be the bright light that draws both African-American and religion folks back to the polls.

Obama offers the voters, a moment of hope. Hope to turn around a government bend on sending their children to war and children back into the homes of empty nesters because these children are unable to find decent job opportunities. A moment of hope in a politician who believes in peace rather than in war. A politician who believes in standing on his [father's shoulder] rather than bending to the will of big name corporations. It is a hope for a new direction.

This first term Senator is a rising star set on a course to etch out the role that disheartening citizens must play in order to produce a more caring, and a more inclusive government in today's global world. Something that neither Hillary Clinton nor Evan Bayh brings to the table. Obama's presence at the table is non threatening to both, Bayh and Clinton in their fundraising role for the party. But neither can discount the impact that this young energetic African-American male will have on the 2008 presidential election for the Democrats.

Will Obama be the first African-American President of the United States or will join the rank of those other African-Americans who helped get a Democrat into the President's seat?

Foundation One-biking for Cause

I remember taking my second oldest grandson into the barbershop of Foundation One. My grandson was visiting me in Fort Wayne, I wanted him to have the experience of sitting in an environment of brotherly concern for community. Foundation One not only cares for the community, he also believes in supporting brothers who are incarcerated.

Nov. 22 will take a spiritual trek across the streets of the Fort it will be more than likely a lone trek for the healing of our community. I hope I am wrong, and that others will join him at 10:00 a.m.

Election Day-Nov 4, 2008

The newspaper reports, In Allen County, 253,313 people are officially registered to vote in the election, said Barry Schust, Republican member of the Board of Voter Registration.

Now, according to a demographic study, over 240, 000 adults in Allen County are 18 years or older. Now that does not means that all these folks are eligible to vote, some may be sitting in prison, some may have moved away, some may be mental unstable, some may have died.

But, the republican representative on the Allen County Election Board stated 253,313 are officially registered to vote..now do you really believe the republican member or the United States Census Bureau?

I should hope that the folks in Fort Wayne are keeping an eye out for Obama. Indiana's polls will be closing in 15 minutes, count them numbers.

I was dumbfounded when I watched the poll workers in Maryland use computers to check off the names of voters, why is Fort Wayne still using books, to allow Republicans to vote and vote often? Read AWB tell you how the process work.

MLK funds are used to keep building open

Always remember, that the best of interest of African-American children are not at the heart of East Allen County Administrators. It's a fact. There is no justification for the low scores for children in the EACS district. Now Dr. Novotny and the Principal of Village Woods suggest that the reason for kicking out the Martin Luther King Montessori, is to make more room for kindergartners. Ha, if that is not a bunch of bull. The reason is shift the money to save the Benoit building.

If more room is needed at Village Woods, I would suggest a brand new school be built. Oh I forgot, you don't get African-American children new stuff, you just shift them to abandoned buildings. The reason because these folks don't care about educating our children.

Remember, Lincoln gave MLK a nice building and MLK administrators sold the building for a cool million dollars. I would think that would be enough to build another nice building, you think? Nope, that would be too much like doing right by African-American children.

Has anyone contacted the President of the NAACP? Or how about the Department of Justice, sounds like a big issue of racialist behavior to me.

The Question: What will black folks do after the election?

Answer:

Members of Georgia Black Youth Vote! registered new voters while marching to the polls to vote early in partnership with Bow Wow's Walk Across America last month.

Washington, DC - The Eighth Annual Black Youth Vote! (BYV!) Civic Leadership Training Conference, ""We Vote, Now What?: Taking Youth Civic Engagement to the Next Level," will take place November 12-15, 2008 at the National Education Association headquarters, 1201 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC. "This is an exciting year for Black Youth Vote!," says Melanie L. Campbell, executive director and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP), the parent organization for Black Youth Vote. Campbell continues, "They worked hard to register new voters, educate them on the issues and their rights at the polls, and make sure they turn out in record numbers. They did a phenomenal job this year."

The BYV! conference will train young leaders and activists on how to impact public policy and hold elected officials accountable. The conference includes a legislative briefing on Capitol Hill, panel discussions and workshops designed to prepare participants to execute a Black youth agenda during first 100 days of the new administration. Speakers include Kemba Smith, Kemba Smith Foundation; Illai Kenney, Georgia Kids Against Pollution; Rebecca Thompson, DC Youth Advisory Council Executive Office of the Mayor; and author, activist, and journalist, Kevin Powell.

A media briefing November 12th at the National Press Club in DC will kick off the conference. Moderated by BET's Jeff Johnson, the first of two panels, "We Voted: The Power of the Black Youth Vote in '08," will analyze the role that black youth played in mobilizing the historic voter turnout in the 2008 election. Organizers will also share tactics used to successfully mobilize young voters including the integration of new technology for voter registration, education, mobilization, and voter protection.

Panel Two, "Now What?: Leveraging the Black Youth Agenda in the First 100 Days," will outline critical next steps as it relates to pressing issues like the economic crisis, healthcare, education, the environment, national security, and felony disenfranchisement.

BYV! is the youth initiative of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to increasing African American civic participation. Founded in 1996 to increase participation among 18-35 year old youth, BYV! was lauded for having a major impact on the record turnout of young voters during the 2004 presidential election.

Over the past year BYV! traveled the country on their Black Youth Vote Justice Speak Out Tour, registering new voters, educating young voters on the issues, disseminating important information on voting rights, and urging voters to be among the first to vote in the historic 2008 election. The group also partnered with Bow Wow's "Walk Across America" urging young people to register and vote early.

For more information on the conference or Black Youth Vote please contact William Kellibrew IV, Black Youth Vote! coordinatorat 202.659.4929 or visit www.ncbcp.org.

Back Spasms-Fear of an Obama Loss?

It happened Wednesday, I felt this pain zip though my back side, that I immediately did not question its' meaning. I had a fall at work a few months back, and my leg was still not cooperating with me, so I knew I was in trouble. But other folks are having back problems, according to an article I read on Field Negro's blog. These folks, Erica Jong and Jane Fonda are suggesting it might be an Barack Obama symptom. Jong suggest that this wave of back problems may have something to do with a fear of a Barack Obama lost and some type of potential backlash by Obama supporters. Go figure, I was thinking, time is not on none of our sides..Jane, Erica...

But, you know, which Obama supporters, these folks are referring too? It's ya'll. Yep, ya'll folks who believe that the raced white man just like to keep a brotha down. Myself, I think Jong believe ya'll folks have but just a mustard seed of self discipline. Jongs talking about bringing the boys home to be fight for McCain to beat our backsides into submission. The woman is having a Ronald King riot flashback, wouldn't you think? Are we really the ones Jong has to worry about? Or is Jong really worried about folks finally discovering how far raced white America will go to keep certain folks from achieving the ultimate American Dream under the electoral process? It's happening in many of our hometowns. Power is taken, it is not given nor is it surrendered, my people. Jong needs to read some Malcolm, Meredith, Till and even some Ida B. Wells, death is nothing new for the brothas. It was King, Jr. who stated it was best to find something to die for, Ms Jong. We are not scared..we are tired of being scared, that's why folks are standing in line (for free) to vote for Obama. Who are you going to vote for Ms. Jong? Or do you believe in the perfect storm for McCain?

Here's the article read it for yourself, and when you finished send me a translated copy, because it appears to me that Jongs has Obama listed among those folks who were assassinated:

Erica Jong La scrittrice e le paure degli intellettuali di sinistra
«Da Follett a Jane Fonda i liberal americani tutti in ansia per Obama»
La previsione: se perde è guerra civile Il sospetto: «Ci sono apparecchi elettorali che ti fanno votare McCain anche quando hai pigiato il tasto Obama»

DAL NOSTRO CORRISPONDENTE NEW YORK - «Un' ossessione.
